Didn't realise the race was going to be wet.
Also didn't realise the sport was F1 and not bowling/skittles going into the first corner.

Hate to say it but man Daniel Ricciardo is still not firing in the McLaren.
That's been a massive surprise, like he's just messed up in the head with the new car handling.
Hoping being involved in the design for 2021 will help deliver something he feels more in tune with, and doesn't break it for Norris.

Liked this comment I saw elsewhere 🤣

For those new to F1 let me explain the penalty system:

1. Cross the white line on pit entry: 10 second time penalty

2. Wipe your opponent out of the race at dangerously high speeds: also 10 seconds

3. Use slightly to much fuel: instant disqualification

Merc is on the rise again.

They did say they put nothing into car development this year while rbr put nothing into car development next year, that's why they were losing.

It seems they are superior now, they must have changed course to help sir Lewis

They've introduced elements to remove the effect of the downforce lost on low rake cars but it seems that its more about simulator work and refining the package at the factory.. I can't imagine Toto would change course given the massive change for next year and the consequences that would bring if they focused their costs on this year.

4. Be an experienced driver, then run 2 feet behind a car thats alongside the rival, oh forgot to brake following that close in turn 1...

I dont get it either. Not even close

I feel Perez will be out. He hasn't delivered as he isn't any support for the No.1 driver. Gasly is primed now

Superior?? Maybe they are a tad quicker, but you would need a true race to test that. Like if the Merc wasnt again key in dropping Verstappen out. After that Hamilton was racing the back half of the grid, which wasnt that great

Now now, let's be sensible about this. He did get a grid drop, but that is all of about 10 metres in a car that is probably still the class of the field.

I'm of the firm view that a penalty that ruins a backmarker's race should be equally as substantive to a team with a car with so much pace that it's a mild inconvenience at best.

It was an "accident". Bit O damage, 5 place grid drop, a good investment. Conspiracy of course but this is a high stakes sport its about the money and the trophies. Same with most sports, anything will do to get the end result

He got a 5 place grid drop. He is never a Championship contender but he works well with the team...

Interesting to read the impact of cost caps, and the discussion around should this be in place to fix accidents caused by others.
Thought the original goal was to reduce the continual development, but right now Red Bull is likely to incur grid penalties due to engine replacements and other spare parts.

I was thinking that too. Cost caps are to ensure that bigger players dont disadvantage smaller players. Costs can be controlled, but accidents cannot. If a team incurs repair costs that are not their fault, that impacts their own development and they get a further stab in the back by getting penalties that they did not cause themselves. Smaller teams are further behind the 8 ball. It continues to be less about racing and more about under the table and dodgy strategy. This year we have two drivers that are close. If every race was normal the points gained or lost each race would be small. Natural DNF's are rare these days, so some of these "incidents" are mana from heaven. A dodgems strategy is a very worthwhile consideration, and other innocent parties can be affected
