TAB see 28-16 going by their sports odds

My UK mate reckons BIL will kick all day, I think they will bring a new strategy that they have held back. Kiwi teams so far seem not adept at adapting when its not the standard kick all day mentality of the ENG guys. I see less tries from NZ than many anticipate, more from BIL than many expect, and BIL hammering many more penalties. I see 2 tries to 1 for AB's 7 to 4 kicked penalties to BIL, so a very close scoreline, less than 8. This, very decideable based on good or bad refs call or getting the run of the green or not. In short I see AB not doing as well as TAB think, and BIL doing a bit better

58 - 12 to the All Blacks.

The All Blacks brains trust to unlock the Lion's rush defence with some lovely work by Beaudy and the crew.
Warrenball to fail once again.

Big score line! Maybe, who knows. I just feel it wont be a running AB's against a kick it up the middle all night BIL

Maybe I'm too wound up and nervous about the other sporting event happening Sunday and Monday in Bermuda.

I watched the last 4 BIL games - the game against the Maoris last weekend was pretty emphatic - the Maoris were never really in it and got closed down by the rush defense and 10 man rugby.

Hopefully (and I don't think it will) it won't work against a better prepared ABs team with a game already under their belt and a lot more time together.

I'm picking a really tight first half - BILs to get first points on the board (maybe two scores up, probably penalties but not ruling out a try). ABs to come back from the 30th minute through to the 70th. 33-19 to NZ.

Some of the criticism for this BIL team was people like Tjoje being on the bench. That strikes me as taking a leaf from the AB's using the bench as an attacking tool, and not a list of the lesser players filling the seats

Whew. A good AB win in the end but not the game I was expecting. The Lions scoring a magnificent end to end counterattack try and the ABs out muscling the Lions in a scrum. Lions rush defence nullified by one off runners.
Ioane proved why he had been selected by gassing the fastest Lions to score his second try.

To be honest, there were a few opportunities where the Lions actually beat the advantage line, but couldn't capitalise because they either didn't pass, or lost the ball.

Yawn? Big gap? If you ignore the lucky non skill try the AB's got given, it was a close game. The best side won, and while AB;s looked more dangerous running the ball, the Lions also looked dangerous running the ball. The points earned from deserved and skill laden tries, less giving away penalties, showed the score more like 23-15. Thats representative of what each side did. If the Lions got the fluke try instead thats an even game, also not representative.

These AB's have been touted as the best team in decades. Still, I read that only yesterday afternoon in an article. That either makes the Lions orefety darn good, or it makes the AB's a top side, but given the bagging of the Lions here, not that top. And nowhere near the best team in decades.

Many. And while you cant fudge the score to allow for all that, and its on both sides, what they brought to the game was a lot more than the 15 they scored. Not dropping just a couple of those, well........ in the balance

@tdgeek. I must have missed the no skills try. Was that the one where Taylor plucked a pretty average pass off his bootlaces, or the one that Read flipped out of the disintegrating scrum, or the one where Ioane grabbed a ball that bounced well for him then blitzed three of the Lion's fastest backs?
I take nothing away from the Lion's first try either, it was brilliant. Their second appeared to be the ABs going to sleep on defence because it was past 80 minutes and the game was beyond reach. The ABs will be kicking themselves because a 30-8 scoreline would have been so much more demoralising for the Lions.

Cant recall the detail, Lions coughed it up into the AB's laps. Thats happens, Ive no qualms over that, its sport. But I saw the game as a close one. 3 tries to 2, Dagg awesome is stopping it being 3-3. The lucky AB try that fell in their laps. There was enough skill shown by the Lions, and lost opportunities that it could easily have gone the other way. A 3-2 try game seems representative of what I saw. Not a walloping of the hapless Lions that many predicted. Many saw that team as unable to create opportunities. Lions skills were clearly there in creating opportunities, but they often failed to execute when it really mattered. How much if that was the weather, the Lions fault, or the AB's pressure, hard to know.

If you think last nights test was boring I suggest you stop watching rugby. This side won't be this good forever so enjoy it while it lasts.

I thought the Lions were excellent and played with pride. They put the All Blacks under serious pressure at the end of the first half.

Don't get me wrong. Lions were in it till about the 50th minute. But were they as penetrative as the ABs? No. Were they as clinical as the ABs? No - as people have said, butchered a few tries for failure to move the ball. What team comes to mind ... mmm ... ah Wallabies of 12 mths either side of RWC 2015..

Lions playing as ABs against ABs. Big gap.

Of course I expect the Lions to challenge the ABs. If not I wouldn't bother paying Sky money to watch it. But I only got 50 mins worth of my money. I was hoping for at least 60! I'm not watching super rugby until the knockout stages.

PS there was a "knock on" that was called when the Lions were about 2 on 2 with only the full back to beat, only 1 video replay angle shown!

Usually when there are no video replays of critical calls it's because the home side decided not to show it ... very suspicious ...

One Lions try was nabbed by Dagg, great effort

The 3-2 tries could have been 3-3. Less Dagg 4-3 to Lions, not a lot in it

Yes, AB's were more dominant. Why didn't they not win by 6-2 tries??? They did not capitalise on their dominance.

Why didn't Lions win by 4 tries to 2? They also failed, made opportunities, did not capitalise.

Some need to look at the sport aspect, and lose the rose coloured glasses
