TeaLeaf:
eracode: This epitomises Australians as a whole for me - a very self-obsessed bunch of people. Can be great as individuals - but as a nation? - nah.
I lived a long time in aus and love the country and the people.
There is this over patriotic theme which is often hypocritical. Like being fair play sportsmanship. Yet time and time again this happens. Ricky Ponting swearing at the England from below on the field, Stuart McGill shoving an opposition player as he walks out to bat. Things like that are just not sportsmanship, yet Ponting in there eyes is the best player of the game in the modern era which is far from the truth as well.
Take a look at their Bundaberg ads (I cant stand the actor who does them). Going on about how Aussie they are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pK5Q_Us-fp0
But get them in a normal situation and they are very similar to kiwis, yet if they make a joke about us being ram rooters its not considered a violation at human resources. its like there is a work place policy for everyone. and then one for kiwis. and dear make a joke back about them being jealous because roos run to fast for them to catch and they go into a sulk. ie dish it out but cant take it.
Everyone knows it's better with a Ewe...
Shows how silly they are.
:)
