Batman:
this season is a waste of time.
just give max the title and race some V10s on 13"
Why is it a waste of time?
Uneventful practice sessions
Bit sorry for Lewis actually, as he's basically admitted the car isnt fixable, its just the way their design is, as I alluded to earlier. Im unsure how much they can reduce tyre pressure, and the stiffness and how much they can raise the ride height to reduce bouncing. But they need to go that way and utilise wings and balance to make the best of it
Cool tomorrow for FP3 and quali with ongoing rain. Fine on Race Day. Quali may add some jeopardy
Bung: Smells a bit like floor skirts that have been banned in the past.
Jaxson: That was back when I was all excited they didn’t have much bouncing compared to everyone else. Then just realised they were crazy slow at times regardless :(
And Lando finished top of the time sheets on day 1 of the first pre-season test in Spain... my hopes were sky high at that point!
max goes from unbeatable to undrivable with invisible floor damage.
josephhinvest: No comments about Silverstone? What a race! Best of the year by a big margin. No spoilers!
^^ This. Pfwoah. Spent a _lot_ of time rewinding and rewatching certain parts.

Yeah agree, when Max wins its bare here! But yes it was an excellent race. Without damaged cause to Max, Sergio, Charles, George, it could have been sensational, as Merc were better here with a smoother track

Invisible? What are you saying. It wasnt damaged?
There clearly was damage of some form, despite it not being able to be seen by the cameras as Max's performance just dropped away.
I'm more interested in the 2nd part of the new FIA ruling on the floor... if teams have been gaming the system then this will impact them quite considerably... I'd imagine its either Merc, Ferarri or Red Bull that the FIA have noticed this on... I have my views but will wait to see come France which one, if any, suffer any performance loss!

Wasn't aware of that, tks for the heads up.
"There are no restrictions at the rear of the plank and the FIA believe certain teams have engineered the mounting of the plank there to allow a cushioning effect."
If thats the case it wont go anywhere, be the usual turn it off, like diffuser, oil pre ignition and tilting tyres. F1 at its best!

Ferrari had some bouncing in the fast right hander after the old straight in FP, perhaps they were just fine tuning ride height, unsure. Red Bull having a lower rear wing probably helps bouncing if the rear wing downforce is tamer, perhaps easier to dial out than if it was aggressive.
Be ironic if the rear floor issue was a thing, and is not restricted according to my link above, that would amount to good design/engineering. And if that became part of the FIA solution to reduce bouncing
Race was awesome. Full mix of action, strategy and lack of, weather if you include qualifying, tyre decisions on when/if to pit, and a massive sporting crowd as well.
Batman: George Russell says he could have restarted the race but his car got towed away while he ran off to help Zhou
Yep, it needs to be under his steam, once it was towed its game over. If he told the marshalls to not touch it they would have not touched it you would expect
