Will Young, that will go down as one of our greatest catches all time. Legend

Edit: WOW. Will Orouke delivers a Starc like yorker, if he can produce that perfect off stump length often, hes going to take a lot of wckets.

Will Young easily man of match.  Bowlers shared the wickets but good to see Clarkson fool them often with change of pace, nabbed a couple of wickets.

Im liking this Womens, Mens, Womens format to the ODI series.

Wow Hagley looks like astroturf, such a pretty ground with no clouds in the sky unlike Dunedin yesterday.

Emilie Kerr and Suzie Bates can occupy the crease, but too often in a negative boring way like today on a wicket even Henry Nicholls would score a 50 on (sick burn). Kerr I find boring to watch, Bates is just agricultural, she even admitted getting into cricket simplly because she saw them playing and said "I can do this", which I think most women could to be fair. When they occupying the bulk of the innings they need to start putting the foot down around the 30mark.

Oddly Pak were nearly all spin, which NZ much prefer as they dont get the high 120s bowlers here, yet we failed to put them away on a batters paradise.

But Pak are very much top order heavy. So NZ, need to strike very early on.

Edit: nice one Hannah Rowe one of our better medium pace bowlers.

Pak are not socring at all. Only one wicket down but seem out of it.

If it were the mens game I'd say this is a doddle. Pak only need tiny bit more than run a ball with 7 wickets in hand.

NZ and Super Overs are not a great match. We have lost Super Overs 99% of the time. I can’t even recall when we last won a super over.

Sophie Devine has won a lot of them in the past, but Kerr did her no favours.

What a game though, it was NZ's to lose, then you would think Pak should have a chance, then final over NZ looked unlikly to be beaten again.

NZ's fielding lost the game, fact.

Edit: Did Kerr just grab player of match cheque and rudely not stop for the questions? Or was she crying? Not a good look for the NZ woman professional game either way ....

Was loooking like a big start to the super smash by auck until Nesham lollies one in the air. Yes I think clarkson is our future pace ar.

Cam Fletcher comes out, now playing for auck vs his former side.

Edit: Beautiful start by Guptill and Finn allen being reigned in by Rippon here. Fletcher needs to show his worth with the bat.

Geeze Id love to see Guptill still in the black cap. Hes our best white ball opener.

edit: What a great domestic captain Robbie O'Donnell has been for auck. Fletcher with couple overs left looking to lift.

This is a good auck team this year with Finn allen back in auck with Munro embedded in the Brisbane Heat (and what an opening innings he had, should be in BC's WC contention)

Looking at Wicket Keepers, if we are not going to play Dane Cleaver, who deserved an international career ahead of Blundell, Cam Fletcher is the only other option. Not the red ball player Cleaver is, but Id have said that of Blundell when he was selected too. But 33 isnt a bad FC avg, he could end up somewhere around 40 in test cricket. White Ball is his element. T20 avg 34 @ SR132. I think playing for auck where he is from, he will get more exposure. I think hes on the cusp of white ball selection.

But they all in their 30s, no younger keeper has the batting stats which is a worry.

edit: haha Cam Fletcher destroying his old team behind the stumps with two great cacthes then a sitter and Cant look like they gone already, 3 down in couple of overs.

speaking of WK's. Matt Hay has only had 4 matches to start out. Hitting some good shots. Hes 25yo

Then you got Max Chu who is also younger with a of experience, I think hes playing for Otago this year. But Dane Cleaver is only half year older than Cam Fletcher, Id love to see Dane given a chance at test level for a 4 or 5 year career. But I suspect they will stick with Blundell until he retires then Cam Fletcher will step up from white ball to all 3 formats untiil some talented youth pops up.

Edit: Neesham's bowling has dipped the Kings out of the game at this point, hes still got it.

Nelson looking GLORIOUS with no clouds. Should be used more. No reduced overs today.

Good to see a very inexperienced but high high quality leg spinner on debut, Aucklander Adi' Ashok. Only 20ish List A games, but what Ive seen of him in those and last years super Smash hes very similar to Ish Sodhi. I hope he ends up being our next big thing in spin, not that we lack spin right now.

Piss weak NZ batting team, Im not sure why other young guys arent getting a go, but when Blundell is your 5 and Nicholls is your 3, you know you are in trouble. Hopefully Clarkson gets a go ahead of Blundell.

But same with the bowlers, some bowlers Id like to see, some are in the t20s, but Ben Sears should be in the 50ov games given it being more like Tests. a shame both Ferguson and KJ have picked up injuries. I just hope KJ will be ok end of next year in the boxing day Test match in Aus

Edit: not small boundaries at this ground, I reckon it could make a Test pitch if they wanted to apply for status. Possibly needs a little more bounce, but its quick and immaculate. The outfield is sensational and the boundary is 65m all the way around being a dedicated cricket ground. Its definitely a batting surface, with an avg ODI score of 280, the ball sits up consistently and any good shot well placed will rocket along its carpet.  Would love to see Nelson get a test.

I saw more news yesterday about aucklands test venue, must read that. Mt Maunganui is a joke of a Test ground. 4 years since an international, what the heck? yet Mt Maunganui which is a joke of a Test venue gets regular matches. They are not going to have trouble getting 5k into this venue.

Ugggh Milne bombs the 19yo Ashok's first wicket, just mis judged the line and never got there. ashok on a wicket offering him nada is looking good. can turn it even so and has excellent accuracy for the ultra slow ball, has a lovely traditional wrongin. Yes I can see him touring SEa when Patel finally retires as the non all rounder spinner (although he can bat a little ie #9)

again the Bangers top order fail with very little pressure.

Will O'Rourke is ok, Id like to see him work with Bondy, get more accurate and get up to 140kph. Sears and Milne will be our options for 140+ in the tests vs aus and Sa. With Sears untested at this level and Milne subject to injuries its a risky choice with KJ and Fergie both out injured. Id go Milne. But this is why Sears should be playing these ODI's, its hard to pick him for anything based off coin flip cricket (T20). I here there is some push for ODIs to be reduced to 30ov. I always said t20 got it wrong and 30ov was the perfect choice for a shorter format where skill will usually decide the winner where t20 is far too much leaning toward the luck side of cricket. But keep ODI's at 50ov for heck sake.

Well done Will Young, player of the series so far consistency wise, but Soumya 169/150 was amazing.

Rachin got NZ off to 11rpo only to be caught square by a screamer of a catch.

Nicholls comes in and anchors at 1.5rpo and nearly runs himself out (I sort of was backing Bang for a moment there). He needs to go back to domestic cricket and never return. He's "ok" vs SL or Bang in NZ, but vs aus and Sa, he is going to cost us tests.

Edit: Nicholls to be fair running at 6rpo after 2 runs off 12 balls, if NZ just keep going at this pace, in theory should reign the 293 in within 47 overs or so.

Ben Sears is in camp, love his work ethic coming through on the mic, not sure why hes not playing.....

bahahaha only in the South Island will you see parking at the cricket being made of grass.

Edit: Who do you drop in favour of Will Young in the ODI team? My votes is Henry Nicholls, this is his first 50 in I dont remember how long. IMO if anything Will Young is playing his way into replacing  Nicholls in the Test team. Just need Nicholls not to go on with a big score here dang it, he seems to always just keep his role in the team at the last minute with a once a season score at home.

Nooooooo slow ball leading edge gets Will Young looking on 89. What worse is Nicholls is now going for it, must no hes about to be dropped, why else did all the other olld boys gets a rest if not to see if Nicholls comes on at home and Young played to see if they got dropping him in the WC wrong, which they did.

This is a disgrace in selection when NZ are only 2 Wins away from the most wins in a row at home record, 19.

What are we doing picking such an inexperienced team lacking in quality batsman?

Rachin is still a beginner, has shown tis series how bad he can be, then you have your best batsman at #3 in Henry NIcholls..... I think its crazy hes even in the team, then Blundell who avgs about 28 in at #5, after 6 you have Clarkson who is also new, the rest are bowlers. This is NZ E team but doesnt matter because Bangadesh are going to win their first game in NZ.

But the selectors have no pride in that.

Clarkson now gone, 100 looking unlikely.

Its going to be the lowest total against Bang by NZ by a long way, but its at home. No other total on the list is at home, even in Bang we do not score this pitifully.

The worst score by NZ since 07.

I cant make any sense of the selections.

If you going to try new guys or not regulars, put one or two in not half the team.
