Dochart: I wasn’t expecting NZ to bat so well in the 2nd innings.
Neither not after some of the early wickets. Even Blundell finally looked solid when we needed him. I think 350 would be VERY hard to chase down. However, I genuinely think a big mistake is trying to stick to 5rpo+ and it was over 6 in the second innings. They have 3 batsmen avg above 50, two of them 60, then you have Kohli and one other avg mid 40s and a couple avg mid 30s. I think with soooo much time left in the game they could just stick to playing the bad balls rather than manufacturing runs.
However if the remaining NZ players all reach their avgs plus another 20, that is more like 400. Now that is a number that evokes scoreboard pressure. Who knows maybe a bit more (yeh I know, Im getting greedy haha).
Either way, we have given ourselves a chance to do something very few teams have and not since 2012, and never by a NZ team, beat Ind in Ind. :-) fingers crossed.
