Maybe Checo just isn't that good. On his Sunday best he is, but thats not that often. If he needs a few ducks lined up to look ok, well that's not great

You're starting to sound like Helmut Marko (a failed F1 driver who never scored any points) but dumps on his drivers.

In the last race there wasn't much between 3rd through 6th. Norris in 7th was 78 second down, almost 1 lap.

Sheesh. He's gonna wipe the floor with Lance. Wonder how well that will go down with Daddy.

Interesting. They might have ambition and passion, but not much else going for them, besides a willingness to copy other teams.

At least Fernando is still hungry and focused, whereas Vettel (who I generally rate) just lost focus and desire - perhaps he didn't burry his throttle as to save on emissions :p

Would have been great to see both Alonso and Vettel driving together though, suspect they would have pushed each other nicely!

😲 Woah, didn't see that coming.

Of course, based on his track record of terribly timed team changes, that does mean that Alpine is a lock for front end of the grid for 2023?

I am also guessing that means Piastri will stay with Alpine rather than go to Williams. A reprieve for Goatifi?

Its a competitive sport, he isnt delivering. Unless its a track he likes. He isnt a wingman either. Put Norris in the RBR and he will deliver, as per your example.

I thought Alpine loved Alonso, i guess they love Orcon and Piastri more.

Pretty sure you cant win a championship on passion and ambition.

I feel that Alpine has promise, Aston, not much promise. Bring a young gun in on a contract where the team can cancel at any time if needed

There’s talk of Aston having new facilities coming online soon (next 2 years), so building a bigger future.

May see Alonso as bridging that gap etc

Cracked up at the trump like vibe of this comment 😂

Lawrence Stroll (Executive Chairman)

"I have known and admired Fernando for many years and it has always been clear that he is a committed winner like me.

also Horner explained that Sergio had great pace, he gained 6 places, and it's actually not too bad if the whole team is all in on Max and you're getting only the scraps, not bad to gain 6 places and win once in a while here and there

he has a good lifestyle, gets paid a lot, has his own racing team, he's doing what he's paid to do, no more, no less. he's not there to win the WDC.

lest you fprget RBR would want to remind you last year without his help (and Masi) Max would not be world champion, RB would be nothing today, and Merc would be boss. but as it is, RBR are the boss and Merc are laughed at. thanks to one man (umm ... 2)

where as CLC ... well, clowns! different drivers are there to do different jobs

Perez lap times, second graph

Stays within the leaders at all times, lost chunks of time on certain laps but otherwise gets closer instead of drifts further, must be what Horner was referring to

1. Perez is ok

2. No rivalry with the No.1 driver

3. No scrapping with the No.1 driver

So a peaceful issue for RBR and while he wont pick up the points he should, he picks a few up

no one here is talking about one of the main reasons RBR is at the top, RB repeatedly pays tribute to their chief strategist, and did so again after Budapest

behold, Hannah Schmitz (previously McMillan)
