Personally, my take on this is the same as Tua vs Lewis.
Barry is the reason for the loss.
At no time was there a sense of urgency - the one time JP made it through and hit Joshua hard, he stood back and looked to see if that hit had worked. Just like when Tua was managed by Barry.
He needs a new corner. A new promoter. A new attitude.
Boxing is a blood-sport and as such requires a certain amount of animalistic rage. There doesn;t appear to be any of that in any fighter that Barry trains. He seems to train it out of them.
JP would look better under a more aggressive trainer.
Hard to disagree with that. JP fought a polite tactical fight. he got sucesss by winning two middle rounds, but he spent too much time playing chess with a boxer who just needs to avoid confrontation and losing all his belts, by holding his 6 inch longer arm otu and jabbing. AJ had a LOT to lose, JP had nothing to lose, his WBO was likely gone before the match. But he didnt dig in and go after him. Maybe should have watched a few Tyson and Frazier matches, they were both short. He will improve. It wasnt the horrendous mis match many felt it was going to be
