He hasn’t played test football for years. His body struggles to get through an NRL season.

But he does. I find rugby boring, the game style.mauls and kick it away for no reason. League is a far more flowing game, show your skills or not

But at least the AB's see a country vs country match as "available", that means something to them.

If SJ struggles, perhaps he should play every 2nd or 3rd NRL game, and just be "available" for that. Wont happen.

The All Blacks are employed by NZ rugby. It’s their job to play for the All Blacks.

Rugby league players are employed by NRL clubs. It’s their job to play for their clubs.

There are plenty of New Zealand rugby players not available for the All Blacks as they play overseas.

Ok, you answered my query. Playing for your country as a league player is worth jack.

Are the plenty of New Zealand rugby players not available for the All Blacks as they play overseas top tier players? Selectable for the RWC?

IMO I feel the best RWC capable rugby players who were "available" for the RWC, were. Unless injured. Rugby, despite its many issues, is a National sport and IMO players wish to be available for their country. League players it seems not. And thats ok, so forget the NZ AUS game, it isnt really.

Is Richie Mounga the best New Zealand flyhalf? He’s unavailable for the All Blacks.

Is Aaron Smith the best all black half back? Unavailable

Are Brodie Retalick and Sam Whitelock two of the best locks? Unavailable

Is Shannon Frizzell the best blindside? Unavailable

Creating an arbitrary standard that you made up is inane.

Were they unavailable for playing for their country in a recent WORLD CUP?

AFAIK they played. Or were they not available then?

None of them are available anymore. That doesn’t mean that test matches next year aren’t “real test matches”

They are going to overseas leagues. Is SJ going to an overseas league so is "unavailable" for NZ?

No. So the franchise is all that matters, thats ok, just admit it. The NZ- AUS league game is not really NZ vs AUS as its whoever is left. Valid, but not quite the same.

If Rugby and League became Olympic sports, automagically some players might just magic up "availability"

Whatever. Go make up whatever arbitrary standards you like to convince yourself of whatever it is you’re trying to say.

no mate, just wants time at home with the new baby and wife. he will play next year for his club but I think he might retire next year. He had a lt of negative crap in his career and the 3 years they had to stay in aus, away from his young family, i think its all added up.

Was nice to see him get the players player of the year. Flappn Dally M was changed for the worse and his stella year was the victim. Players player trumps Dally M regardless

CNK played with a broken rib since the Samoa game. If only it had been a real test.

hehe. yeah if only aus had some of their best players and CNK wasnt such an easy beat softy who would hit the ball up no different to broken rib or not, into concrete walls like he does for the Warriors.

I gotta say that was by far the most dominant win NZ over aus I can remember, clearly the record loss for aus vs all teams says it all.

after Browns performance last week I didnt see it coming, we looked flat. To then put on an emotion fueled Haka which put some venom in the game, both sides with the argie bargie, I just wish throwing punches was only ten minutes, these shirt grabbing aussies would think twice, especially that GRUB Munster, dont think hed have blindly lashed out at big Nelson in that case, club team mates or not.

Its hard to digest how prolific the win was. aus hates not taking home any silverware (woodware).

honestly, genuinely that is far from the case.

If anything that was the most star studded team for both sides in a long time.

SJ has had one good year, guys like Hughes and Brown are at international level week in week our for years at club level. There were no fill ins.
