If they do the special pricing, I believe it's usually around pre-season testing, which is 21-23 Feb. So probably in a week or so. But agree with nzkc, the normal pricing is good compared to other countries at the moment (especially in comparison to EU prices).

Sounds like Horner is digging his heals in and won't resign. He obviously thinks he hasn't done anything wrong rightly or wrongly, and i also read that if he goes then Newey is off too.

Why would he go? All I've read was that he may or may not have got angry at a staff member or is there more?

It's an employment investigation, 'controlling behaviour' is what is most commonly reported by the reputable media (BBC Sport for instance). Could easily be fired if he's proven to be creating a hostile work environment or participating in workplace bullying. But there is so much weird about this (including that Jos & Halmut are behind this to try and oust him), I don't think it's safe to make any assumption on what'll happen at the moment.

There is always more than the media reports. Half truths and all that.

I would expect working for any F1 team would be an extremely hostile environment. If you don't preform your gone and you probably get yelled at daily.

I'd be very surprised if the final outcome of all this is Horner stepping down, or being fired. Like him or loath him, Horner has overseen a tremendous period at Red Bull Racing on the track, not to mention driving the development of the new campus and Red Bull Power Trains.

I can't see how they can get rid of him even if some at Red Bull want to do so. He's appears too integral to their overall F1 program.

On the F1TV pricing, do agree that even at $100 it's very good value. I can't recall what the timeline is around exactly when they offer the discount, which is probably why I caught out last year and ended up paying the full whack.

They either offer the discount for the duration of pre-season testing, or maybe it's the week between pre-season and the first race. I think it's more likely to be the first one than the second but, in any event, I'm sure several of us are keeping a close eye on it and will signal it up in here when/if the discount arrives.

So if he had a run in wit a staff member or an ongoing issue, hardly enough to fire a CEO of a multi million dollar racing team. If it was endemic all due to him, you can't keep many secrets in that sport

I read that allegedly an employee complained to Horner that they (the employee) were badly overworked and considerably underpaid. Horner allegedly told them, perhaps rather forcefully, they were really extremely lucky to have a job in F1 and they should go away and do their job while they still had one.

Offence was taken.

I must say that I find that description of the circumstances entirely in accordance with my mental picture of life as a worker in F1 - whether in the factory, in the track & pit crew, in the PR department, or even in management.
A tough game really only suited to thick skinned, resilient, highly motivated individuals.

Guenther Steiner has opinions on this.

Let's not also forget the British media have a habit of taking sides when it comes to people in F1 they've decided are public enemy - usually all that takes is beating a British driver.

Looks like the discount for F1TV might be up at the moment based on all the screenshots on Reddit at the moment. 15% off.

Unsure when the promo ends.

Seems so... had to use an incognito window to get this though:

Being lazy, I dont really want to have to create a new account just to save $15. Anyone know if cancelling and resubscribing provides the discount?

Thanks for the heads up.  I've been refreshing this each day waiting for it to come through and will now now purchase.

Survive to Drive coming out soon on Netflix and The Grand Tour Sand Job out today, so starting to pick up the content now ahead of the saeason.

Now I'm properly on Desktop:

^Offer valid until 25th February 2024. Available on web only for F1 TV Pro Annual in selected territories. Promotion is available to new subscriptions only and discounted subscriptions will auto-renew to full price unless cancelled prior to the date of renewal. Full T&C available here.

Looks like cancelling and resubscribing won't work. Has to be a new account (and hope they haven't added ways to detect that considering they're also now talking about verification of residence country too - I guess too many VPNing to India/etc for cheaper prices).

Side note, end time is actually "23:59 GMT on 25 February 2024" so probably will be up until 11am 26th for us.

Less discount this year it was $79.99 last year.

Is it worth $15 to keep my own account or create a new one and use a different credit card.

$100 full price is still good value. $15 would buy 3 coffees though....damn first world problems.

I got an email overnight reminding me it's less than 30 days until my current subscription expires.  Also wondering about whether I want to shag around with new accounts to get the $15 off.

Three days, seven hours until pre-season testing commences. 🚙
