Johnk: does nobody else here want the better car to win?
surely im not on my own haha

Of course I do but they changed the rules years ago so that Nissan couldn't continue to whip Ford and Holden. Innocent

phlegmboy: And have the Ford supporters noticed that the only people who are capable of consistently driving a Ford to victory learned to drive V8's in a Holden?

So you're saying the Holden is the best V8 to learn how to drive and the Ford is the best V8 to actually drive?

No. I need to present myself at one of the High Commissions for an interview. I'll do it next time I'm sent away on training. it costs $400NZD just for the passport, so I'm not spending another $400 on airfares for a day trip to Auckland or Wellington.

Yeap: golf's put on hold this day. Beer, burgers & Bathurst.

I don't really care which brand wins (I do prefer Holden, though) as long as a Kiwi is standing atop the podium, at the end of the day.

Can almost smell the fumes & rubber, already.

also got some cable and rejigged stuff so we can watch the World Feed in the lounge.

There is coverage on Seven from 1:00pm to 4:00pm AEDT (3pm to 6pm NZDT). Probably could start scanning around 2:30pm or so. Hope it's not 4:2:2, that gets complicated then.

To clarify for those who aren't following along closely..
Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages of SAT feed:
Un-interupted.. usually meaning no ad break cuts either
Multiple audio streams and sometimes video you dont see.
Will match http://www.v8supercarslivetiming.com.au/ to the letter for your 2nd tv to display.. everyone does that.. right? :D

Dis-Advantages
720x576
No toilet stops

Advantages of TV3
Cleaner pic
Toilet stops... (adbreaks)

Disadvantages
Ad breaks (where they hit pause!)
News break at 6
Well behind any live updates (last year the newsbreak showed you who won the damn thing before it was shown on tv during their playback slipstream!)

really?  The Globecast uplink utilises the whole transponder, running at around 8mb/s, TV3 is only at about 4.

Oh true? I could be wrong (it does happen on occasions lol)

I just recall the upscaling on -T FV seemed to do a better job at -S at times, so not used it in quite a while.
And figured with TV3 being fulltime 1080i/upscale...

If that is infact the case.. it sucks I don't have a descent DVB-S box :/ Strong 4651x has no upscale or HD out :P

Best thing about the World Feed is that it is completely sans ads. You get the WHOLE race live and uninterrupted.

Try that with TV3...
