Well, to her credit Serena Williams apparently whispered to Osaka, that she was proud of her at the podium and to ignore the boo's as they weren't for Osaka, but to Serena.

Calmed down after the tantrum. Sounds like my 11 year old kid.

Big difference between calming down enough to whisper a bit of encouragement in your opponents ear, and admitting you behaved like a brat and that you are sorry and will work on ensuring it never happens again, to the world. Which is what, in my eyes, needs to happen.

And my 11 year old kid gets banned from his favourite things for a period, depending on magnitude of tantrum.

There was an issue this year, at a Grand Slam when it was hot. It was earlyish round, Fedex was scheduled on a court, but told them he wanted an inside court, or the one with the closed roof, due to the heat. Not great. Entitled. He wanted to avoid a situation that can affect his tournament.

BUTTTT if he threw a tantrum, all you would read in the media was his many apologies, thats the difference.

So you are making stuff up based on what? Your own childish humour without any evidence?

So it continues. Serena's first opportunity to address the issues at the tournament, and she doubles down on her prior comments. Disgraceful. I'll never look at her the same way again. I may even cheer against her going forward.

What an amazing opportunity she has blown to show that being a winner, being celebrated, is not more important than how you cope with adversity.
