I think we should make thanks for the fact we didn't play as badly as South Africa, they looked asleep, Pumas literally ran riot almost entirely unopposed. Full moon perhaps?

We don't need killer moves. We need to be more accurate and front up at scrum/breakdown, then play our natural game.

100% agree with this. Our basics let us down. SBW should have been pulled if he was injured (I am unsure if he hid the severity of it or was told to play on for some reason). The soft try to Sio was outrageous, but basic stuff like handling errors and poor judgement because of being under pressure because of poor quality passes, were the difference. We could have won that game, Australia looked like headless chooks for 55 minutes. For 10 minutes they attacked us and went backward or went sideways.

I am not saying anything about the Anthem but I felt our energy was "wrong" during the Anthems. Moore was FIZZING during theirs.

The really nice thing, is that none of this is a really big problem, it's fixable with the right attitude and focus which I think the AB's environment has in spades.

When is SBW Contracted with NZRU till? Isn't it just till the end of the year. Nonu is gone at the end of the year, who is replacing them? I'd like to see Crotty at 12, perhaps Fekitoa at 12? Doesn't have the size and power of Nonu (but is more elusive).

Di anyone else notice the body language of the players on the field after the final whistle.

Lots of smiles, generally happy. No-one hanging their heads.

My (perhaps optimistic) take on it was that they weren't too worried about the result, and perhaps quite glad they'd been touched up a bit.

Richie was angry during the game - something was pissing him off (probably quite a few things). What I saw after was him smiling and laughing though.

I saw Richie and others shaking hands with the Aussie team with genuine smiles. I thought they were pretty gracious in defeat and didn't seem to be internalising a lot which I think is good.

This team has lost like 3 games in 4 years. Clearly we are going to stick with what has been working for us over that period. It may not work at the world cup, but that's just the way it is. You don't know who's going to win on any given day, that's why they play the game.

1. because they knew they were beaten fair and square. there's nothing to be angry about that.

2. they are gracious in defeat, usually the car destroying rampage comes after a heavy pub debrief.

3. if you see aaron smith he was crying on the naughty boy chair.

4. if you see RM's interview, he was holding tears (of anger?) back and was speechless.

I really felt Aaron Smith felt super bad about that tackle. It was an accident but I think he is a fair play type of guy,he would have been gutted at himself.

in my experience, players are different every year. i have no idea why. one year they are the best 9 in the world, the next they aren't even selected for their club.

one year they are the best 15 in the world, the next they can't even get in the english 22.

so to say that someone was awesome in 2014 and will be even better in 2015 without merit is foolish.

to say that someone was up and coming in 2012 and therefore will be our best bet in 2015 after travelling the world is mad.

to say someone was in the form of his life in 2012 and will come back and sweep everything in front of him in 2015 is beyond believe.

anyway, 2015 has barely begun ... we will know in october. i hope i'm wrong.

I guess we are different then. I'd rather win all our other games and lose the world cup than lose all our games and win the world cup. (I'd like to win everything but if I was to make a single choice).

I don't see this loss doing us any harm.

One thing is that if you pick purely on form, you lose team culture. A good team will manage the players who aren't at their best, give them support and space to improve and reap the benefits.

Our culture and team spirit is the difference between us and the rest.

if you've never been put to the sword backed into a corner before (because every match you've donned black was awesome so far) you don't know what to do. so i put that down on inexperience.
