F1 Drive to survive just started on netflix. Just finished episode 1.

I like the informal interviews you get with the drivers, makes them seem more human. Also good to see the (behind the scenes) emotional roller coaster people go though.

Liberty Media have done some really good stuff for F1 since they brought the rights, i assume this is an extension of that.

Didn't realize both Haas cars went out at Melbourne last year due to loose wheel nuts. The Haas mechanic that stuffed looked like it was the end of the world he knew he has blown it for the whole team.

The whole race at Melbourne last year was comical, those were only two minor parts. There was am an issue where Mercedes miscalculated the speed of the virtual safety car and let Vettel pass him that's why he won

That's more than every other race last year! But usually Ferrari giving away the win in the first half of the season, and in the second half Bothas giving it to Lewis.

Will the Honey Badger have a fast car this weekend in his first outing with Renault? Will Red Bull regret moving to Honda?

I for one am looking forward to Friday practice, lets you see who's fastest and who isn't. the new regs this year also suppose to make for close racing.

I'd like to see Gasley do well, and also interested in the other rookies Alexander Albon, Lano Norris and George Russel (although Williams looks like a bag of bolts) and  goes.

Lots of young talent that have had good results in lower ranks.

Very unlikely.

No as it wasn't working with Renault, however I don't know how good Honda will be.

It should be a better overall package for Red Bull, as it's hopefully been designed to suit.

Just feel for McLaren/Alonso, who had to do something and took a gamble on Honda, and then just did beta testing for them for several years.

No other teams benefit from this development.

I dont rate Gasly and true pace wont be seen till Q3.

I feel Honda will be a stepup from Renault, maybe two steps up. RBR can afford some hp deficit due to their package, so I feel they will be right in it, not needed a big mistake but needing a small mistake to capitalise

LeC vs Vet  will be fun

Max vs everyone will be fun, I think he may push harder this year if RBR is up to it, probably to his detriment.

Lewis has already beaten Bottas thats already set in stone

I like Albon and Russell, Norris is hot headed, I see that in F2

Have watched quite a few episodes of the netflix series, must say in Dolby Atmos on a projector screen, the racing really is quite impressive.

Have never been a strong motorsport fan (other than Bathurst if I remember its on and when it was free to air), but having watched some of the personalities and interactions in the sport, I might try and watch a bit on Kayo this weekend.

How long does a F1 race actually last?

2 Hours is the maximum, if a race isnt complete. Typically 1.75 hours, depends on how many yellows

Max seems to have the red mist too often.  His overtakes often require someone to move out of his way to avoid a collision, and he's genuinely surprised if they don't and then proceeds to blame them.
That's more often the skill of of the other party, to spot the events unfolding and take evasive measures to protect their car.

Not saying Max doesn't have great car control, his outings in the wet have been masterclass material, but race craft (including changing direction under breaking etc) around others isn't a strong point.

Agree. He did tone it down and did well, but he may struggle to keep a lid on it if his car is good enough to win.

Technically that applies to all overtakes! But I get what you mean. Though the F1 rules are very specific about when someone is in the wrong. But as far as I can recall, he's very rarely been found guilty when the stewards have applied those rules to check his overtakes. The only one I can remember is vs Vettel way back in his rookie year.

I don't rate him either; he couldn't put up dominant numbers at STR even with the absurd preferential treatment and whinged like a toddler when Hartley started matching him for pace despite it. Putting him and Max in the same team is mental and watching these two Eurobabies go at it is pretty much the only reason I'm watching this year.

I see Gasly as the ultimate wingman, keep out of his way and so on. He is a seat filler. You will be lucky to see any pics of Gasly this year, he is being used, not unlike Kimi last few years at Ferrari
