oxnsox:nate: I'm keen to see how many people will trust public transport from here on in, especially with the announcements the Government has given Len Brown and his buddies the boot.
Is that the Government saying... "Whoose your daddy?"
They're taking a punt on doing this though:
- on one hand are they going to get a situation where they would have to deal with 200,000 people again?
I think, and hope, not.
- If they do... really what can they do different... more Trains? (do they have more?) or can they stop people pulling the stop cords and walking on the tracks?
More buses??? From where to where if 200,000 folk all want to be in Party Central?
- IF 200,000 people want to party downtown, it's going to be pretty hard to stop them going there and maintain order...... All it takes is 1 or 2 idiots and we all know theres more than 1 or 2.....
Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.
networkn: What time are the games starting today?
Ramboss: Good point, I think guilford should have got a start, I think he is in better form than gear so his selection is justified. And Kahui is a very good player, but I don't think they should move him to the wing over a specialist wing. When it comes to crunch games kahuis D is wasted on the wing and he doesn't have the speed of a proper wing.

It's risky because if they can't pull it off, they've got no-one to blame but themselves.
I think they should've spread out the celebrations more, ie had the waterfront, maybe the Auckland domain, plus some other bigger areas. Asking 200k people to one particular spot, that doesn't have the space let alone the public transport capabilities, is just asking for punishment.
