Yeah Hass is the biggest turnaround from previous year. They wrote off their 2021 season for this so good to see some progress there. McLaren nowhere to be seen yet unfortunately.
Good to see Ferrari back up there.
Red Bull looking amazing.

Yep. If nothing else, its a 3 team go. Hopefully McLaren can get up there. The midfield fight might be quite awesome
Just watched FP3, its all happening. And FP3 usually has the last 20 minutes as quali runs, but pretty much all FP3 was a quali trial
Mercedes have resolved most of their porpoising issues, leaving RBR, Ferrari and Mercedes as the big three
The teams with the best sector times, as above, are NOT in the top speed trap ratings.
Now, Crofty, again says he was worried about a boring season if Red Bull was dominant..... Really? So 2014 to 2021 was ok???
About to watch quali but here is my take on this season, albeit a very early read
1. Horsepower wont dominate the grid. Mercedes, Red Bull and Ferrari are quite even
2. While all cars are very different, they all use ground effect as the chief form of downforce, and all need to run stiff suspension and the same stiff tyres
So, IMO, the drivers will provide much more in Quali and the race, so expect more second tier cars getting higher up on the grid, and should any tier 1 cars, not qualify well, that will be harder to quickly get back to the pointy end in a race. Understeer in slower corners is now the norm, so dont expect one stop races. More jeopardy and more options for a tier 2 team to do well.
One thing I wasnt aware is is that the white line is the edge of the track on ALL turns, not just some tyres as has been the case. Crofty did state that its up to the teams to sort that out, but thats cant be right. Stewards will need to step in, in the race.
Yep, although it shows how close the top two are. Max was running best in Q3 but missed out the last sector each time. Interested to hear why.
George was poor first sector, Mercedes will be on party mode, and still not there. Perez a bit closer than normal. Haas, Alfa and Alpine up there. Surprised Gasly wasnt.
Its a driver day and can you nail one lap day
Now to see what pitstop strategy will be, and what tyres will be used.
Agree. Im a Red Bull fan, and Max. But what I am liking is its a real competition. Not dominated by 2 seconds per lap faster (when 3/10 is huge) Ferrari is huge. Mercedes will catch up. Its a 4 driver race soon to be 6 when Merc catch up. I start at 7 at work (been on A/L this week) From what I gather 4am is tee off time? Ill watch at 4-30
Great race. Not the ending I was looking for, but a proper F1 race for a change. Passing without a slam dunk DRS, following close, pit strategy, and jeopardy, just like the old days
Jvipers2: Wow! Great race Leclerc…
But such poor sportsmanship by the “world champion”…losing cool and eventually lost the car…guess no Masi no win then…
Talking of poor sportsmanship...
wth everybody pits like 10 times
that;s the reason ferrari won, coz ferrari did not pit CLC when VSC and SC was first in place
well done LeClerc

It's called strategy
Quite a bit to unpack there.
Cars were nearly all a bit rough.
Larger wheels/tyres were heavier to move so slower pitstops, and blanket temps are down (Did I hear that right?) so they took much longer to come up to grip temp when rejoining.
Mercedes Engines all look way down on power, did not see that coming?!
McLaren ran as a race pace testing session, but man they are screwed, like a shocking fall from grace there. Complete sh really.
Aston Martin are also a mess, Hass did well to bring their design to fruition.
Red Bull and Ferrari are on it (save the last couple of laps) and Mercedes look ragged but are close really. Would not write them off at this stage, but they were off the pace.
Cars can follow closely, DRS is almost too much in places, overall was an improvement on the processional nature of past design regs.
After first race, well done to Ferrari, frankly it's well deserved. They've designed well, tested and refined well and turned up to play.
