Zippity: Of course Wellington should have an airport that visitors from Asia and The Americas can fly into.

Not everyone wants to go to Auckland.


They already can, just not directly - most flights come in via (I would presume) either Auckland or Australia.

I remember an American travel reporter Clarence W Dripdry  back in the late 1950s saying that they solved the problem of Wellington Airport by sinking an aircraft carrier between two islands..
