Even if it had been the Ukrainians, since when should Russians be upset about something they themselves have always practised abroad? Be it contact poisoning in England, shooting in Germany, the Alexei Nawalny case and other messes they have always denied? Since when have they been so squeamish?

Probably still a small fringe group at this point, but they have claimed responsibility for the car bombing that killed Dugin's daughter.

This is a well put together and calm explanation of their manifesto.

I don't believe for a second that Ukraine is involved. My own personal belief is that Russian security forces are responsible for the car bomb.

It's a bit like when there was suddenly a string apartment bombings in 3 Russian cities in the late 90's. These helped 'justify' the second Chechen war which in turn made Putin (then rime Minister) extremely popular, which helped greatly in elevating him to President. I think Putin's looking for more popularity at home once more.

Dugin's sudden decision to not go with his daughter may have been preceded by some sort of covert call designed to make him change his travel plans at the last moment. Now they have a grieving father, with close connections to Putin, who can be held up as a patriotic symbol.

Did anyone watch Tova Meets Zelensky on Prime last night? I was not too impressed by it but maybe that is just me. I'm not sure. She seemed out of her league to me and some of the questions she asked struck me as inappropriate to be bothering a man of Zelensky's stature with. He seemed impatient and distracted at times, as if asking himself how he got into this and how can he get out as quickly as possible. Maybe I am reading it wrong. I don't know.

Surely not the same Tova who asked Jacinda Ardern if 5G caused COVID? 🙄

Tova interview

So Zelensky missed out on Kim Hill. :-)

The repeated SAS questions, was she trying to break OPSEC and put Ukraine and our people in jeopardy !?

Oh then the 'zing' everyone here is denying SAS involvement. So self serving. So thats the trap being set ?

Sheesh you get an hour of his time, and you are getting into echos of all those reporters who tried
to get Zelensky to 'out' Trump while he was desperately trying to keep US aid that Trump needed to sign off going.

Seemed to be more interested in expanding wedge issues on discontent over immigration.
Issues that seemed to be a waste of Zelenskys time, and he says there are other more important issues himself.
Oh she can't stop and brings it up one angle after another, like there are not more important questions.
His country is in a critical condition on life support, and discussing NZ immigration issues.

Oh hell, the what would you do alone in a room question, really. ?
Man he must think NZers are dumb as Floridians after this.

For Zelensky
Return on Capital Employed, yeh its a problem.
Australians have donated order of magnitude more ? and have more donation capacity.
Australians are not watching a NZ interview.

Jacinda Arden , like it or lump it does have a certain global profile,
so yes a visit from her would see more world press interest which is of larger value.

The spokesperson mentions this in passing

New York Times: Explosion Kills Dozens of Ukrainian Captives at Russian-Held Prison

At least 50 captured fighters died in a blast at a prison in eastern Ukraine, with no clarity on exactly what happened and each country blaming the other.

Later reports from various sources are that they were already dead long before the explosion happened, i.e. it was covering up the fact they they were tortured to death. They were moved into an isolated area away from other prisoners which then conveniently blew up all by itself in the hopes of destroying any evidence of misdeeds.
