quickymart: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2025/07/16/ai-girlfriend-musk-app-12-year-olds/Musk launches AI girlfriend available to 12-year-olds🤮

There have already been some tragedies with similar services used by children. The linked article mentions only one of those tragedies. Maybe too many to choose from. I did not ever expect to see a major player offering 'this kind of service' directly.

quickymart: Politico posted this recently, an interview with an adviser to Perot's campaign in 1992

Best advice to win US political races: be very white, very rich and very old. That'll get you about 75% there.

The age of Russell Verney is unknown because he won't publish his birthdate. In 1996 CNN said he was 49 years old, so he's about 78/79 now

The US is a gerontocracy. No wonder they want to return to the 1950's. It was when it was OK to poop in their diapers in public.

This engineer has been very stoic, unemotional, in past math-heavy videos. So this is uncharacteristic.

Trump whispering is particularly difficult.

If Trump always lies, and Trump says he will defund Elon Musk, and may deport.
What will Trump actually do after important tasks like supervising more gold leaf for Whitehouse?

There always seems to be a space that is not gold leafed, a Trumps work is never done.
As all Trumps properties are probably official offices there is even more work to gold leaf these.

Elon Musk is still getting Billions in Government money.
Handily SpaceX was able to loan a few Billion of that to Elon for his other ventures.
Tax deductions pile up.

Its probably a whole crap-ton of Nividia Cards and Jet Engines for his Memphis Mecha-Hitler.
The sweet, sweet Memphis sound of roaring Jets and choking exhaust in the morning.
Trumps DOGED and defunded EPA no obstacle.

J. D. Vance ( Thiels Apprentice ) patently waiting,
Thiel and Bros, happy to see Elon take the lead, and damage in Trump baiting.
If someone was to get angry enough to burst a blood vessel.

Zuckerburg proposing a data center the size of Manhattan, even more power hungry,
the battle is on.

Elon Musk’s Neuralink filed as ‘disadvantaged business’ before being valued at $9 billion: CNBC

In April, shortly before being valued by venture investors at $9 billion, Elon Musk’s Neuralink labeled itself a “small disadvantaged business” in a federal filing.

The filing would have reached the Small Business Administration at a time when Musk was leading the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Note that "Full Self-Driving (Supervised)" is what Musk used to call “FSD Beta” or FSD, before lawyers got involved.

The "supervisor" is the driver. (It ain't Tesla's fault if car kills someone, including bystanders. It's your fault. Company assumes no liability for any loss or damages.)

Sounds much better than "FSD (DMKHOTW EOTR RTTOAAM UAYO RTNLR FACDODIAOY MGHMOYS). Acronym expanded to

"driver must keep hands on the wheel, eyes on the road, ready to take over at any moment. use at your own risk. Tesla not legally responsible for any carnage, deaths or dismemberments. It's all on you. May God have mercy on your soul."

Of course this ain't cheap. NZD 11,400 (~AUD 10,100). On the plus side, it's one-off

Outside North America, FSD’s extra features beyond "Enhanced Autopilot" , EAP, are limited, to mostly the cruise control capability.

Tesla Confirms Upcoming FSD Rollout in Australia and New Zealand: Not a Tesla App

The long long wait for FSD (Supervised) in Australia and New Zealand may be coming to an end. Thom Drew, Tesla’s Country Director for Australia & New Zealand, has confirmed on LinkedIn that Tesla has been working with local authorities in both countries and that there are no regulatory blockers for the release of FSD in the region.

Hurdles Cleared

For many years, the main question surrounding the release of FSD in other Asia-Pacific countries, especially Australia, has been the status of regulatory approval. Drew’s statement provides the clearest answer yet regarding regulatory barriers, and it appears that the path is clear from a governmental standpoint.

“We have been working with local authorities across AU & NZ and there are no regulatory blockers for release. We are running through the final stages of validation prior to public release. Looking to start with HW4 on certain vehicles and then release in phases from there.”

I bet you this new ad from The Lincoln Project will very much chew away at him (and all his insecurities). Well deserved, too.

I only heard it from one news outlet.

The "robot" filling popcorn containers is another puppet controlled by a human behind the scene.

There were lots of gullible restaurant goers fooled though. I wonder if the same people get fooled by Disney's Hall of Presidents.

It may be the same bartender robot puppet that Musk used on the Optimus photo-op.

quotes in 2024

"Over a thousand, maybe a few thousand, Optimus robots working at Tesla in 2025, and he expects Optimus to be on sale by 2026."

“Tesla will have genuinely useful humanoid robots in low production for Tesla internal use in 2025 and, hopefully, high production for other companies in 2026”

“We are able to do simple factory tasks or at least, I should say, factory tasks in the lab. We do think we will have Optimus in limited production in the natural factory itself, doing useful tasks before the end of this year. And then I think we may be able to sell it externally by the end of next year."

I guess the 2026 robot filling a popcorn box goes beyond the capability of the current "simple factory tasks in the lab" touted by Musk 2024's robot.

Optimus robot: Short battery life, excessive wear on moving parts, frequent over-heating requiring extended shutdown to cool off, weak lifting abilities, ...

I suggest that Musk change the change, based on the Transformer's leader "Optimus Prime"
  • Pessimus Prime: always expects the worst, and delivers it.
  • Minimum Prime: transforms into a broken child's tricycle.

Tesla Reportedly Pauses Optimus Robot Production Amid Design Overhaul: AI Invest
...
Tesla will wait until the Optimus design adjustments are completed before finalizing a new mass production plan and resuming procurement.
...
As of the end of May this year, Tesla had procured enough parts to produce 1,200 Optimus units and had manufactured close to 1,000. Musk had previously pledged to produce 5,000 units this year. Both sources mentioned believe that with the suspension of parts procurement, this target is now largely unattainable.

Tesla Optimus is in shambles as head of program exits, production delayed: Electrek

Tesla’s humanoid robot program, Optimus, is reportedly in disarray amid the departure of the senior vice president in charge, Milan Kovac.

Production has been delayed due to a new redesign, as the robot has yet to prove useful in Tesla’s factories.

Elon Musk has previously set a goal for Tesla to produce 5,000 to 10,000 Optimus humanoid robots this year.

The goal has reportedly been delayed as sources within the Chinese supply chain report Tesla informed suppliers of a 2-month halt on orders.
