Oh poor little Elon, boo hoo

Elon Musk says he plans to sue Apple for not featuring X or Grok among its top apps

I'd be surprised if use of Grok is anywhere near use of OpenAI on that platform. Maybe there are other issues. That's an unflattering picture of Musk on that article. It looks a lot like Trump's cheekbones and skintone.

Article reveals basic economics:

"Musk, the world's richest man, and his associates have told people close to Vance that the billionaire is considering using some of his financial resources to back Vance if he decides to run for president in 2028, the paper said."

It's cheaper to aquire an existing politician than make a new party ; ).

He had already impressively proven that he is a turncoat par excellence – from Trump opponent to his attack dog. So why not let Elon pay him? 😁

Tesla’s new ‘Master Plan’ sounds like AI slop: The Verge

Tesla’s latest “Master Plan” makes a few things clear right out of the gate: the company that was once known for accelerating the push toward a brighter future by popularizing electric vehicles and renewable energy is no longer interested in that quotidian stuff. Now, it’s all about artificial intelligence, humanoid robots, self-driving cars, and the new buzzy catchphrase that is currently lighting up the tech world: “sustainable abundance.”

At a breezy 983 words, Master Plan 4 is the shortest entry in the company’s ongoing series of mission statements. It’s the first one to be posted on X, Elon Musk’s social media platform, rather than on Tesla’s website. And it reads like it was written by the platform’s chatbot, Grok, with repeated use of em dashes and a suspiciously utopian tone about the future of AI and robotics.

But is it actually AI generated? It hardly matters, because the substance of the Master Plan is so vague, so empty, and so devoid of concrete proposals that it barely casts a shadow.

Here’s a sample:

"Making technologically advanced products that are affordable and available at scale is required to build a flourishing and unconstrained society. It serves to further democratize society while raising everyone’s quality of life in the process. The hallmark of meritocracy is creating opportunities that enable each person to use their skills to accomplish whatever they imagine."

When white supremacists talk about "meritocracy" you know there's builshit in there.

Regarding the Optimus robot, Musk had promised a top speed of 5 mph (between a fast walk and slow jog). People usually walk at 1.4 mph.

Gen 1 Optimus robot walks at 1.2 mph. Gen 2 tops out at 1.3 mph.

Three voices in this video below.

First is a CEO Marc Benioff asking for a coke

Second is Optimus humanoid robot, doing a fantastic impersonation of a scared deer in headlights, followed by a impersonation of a sloth struggling to hold in a bowel movement.

Third is Musk, saying robot needs more space.

Tesla's $200K Gold Optimus Robot used Grok but the hands lacked articulation and did not perform any grasping tasks. Hence why it couldn't get a coke and return with it.

I'm sure Optimus robot will reach same level as the Hyperloop One, which declared bankruptcy after spending around $450 million without building a functional system.

Or the Boring company in 7 years. In 7 years, the Robbins XRE machine could dig 38 miles of tunnel (compared to Musk 2.4 miles). The Robbins tunnel would have a diameter of 14 meters compared to Musk's 4 meter). The Robbins machine builds tunnels over 3.5× wider, 13.14 more cross-sectional area, than Musk’s LA tunnel. There have been up to 15 XRE tunelers built.

Musk's much touted Los Angeles tuneler was an off-the-shelf, conventional TBM, likely acquired secondhand, and then refurbished and modified by The Boring Company.

In 2018, there was a Thailand cave rescue. Musk proposed a (frankly stupid) idea of building a submarine in the cave. A British diver Vern Unsworth politely turned him down. To whish Mush called him a “pedo guy, followed up by saying the diver was a "child rapist." Then said he had a child bride. And finally dismissed the rescue as a “PR stunt.”

When self-identified white supremacist James Alex Fields Jr. deliberately rammed his car into a crowd of counter-protesters, killing Heather Heyer and injuring 35 people, Elon posted nothing.

When democrat Nancy Pelosi's targeted right wing home invasion attack, where her husband was defensively injured with an axe. Elon posted “there is a tiny possibility there might be more to this story than meets the eye,” and linked to a story that it was a three-way gone bad, and the husband was attacked by his homosexual lover.

After the shocking event where Democrat Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were murdered, Musk quote-retweeted someone who alleged “the left” killed her, and added: “The far left is murderously violent.”

So it follows that within seconds of Charlie Kirk's murder, while it was unknown who killed him, Elon Musk posted "‘The Left is the party of murder’.

‘The Left is the party of murder’: Elon Musk calls for Republicans to ‘fight’ after Charlie Kirk killing: The independent

Elon Musk has risked stoking the heightened political tensions surrounding the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk by posting on X the statement: “The Left is the party of murder.”
...
Kirk's killer remains at large at the time of writing. Two people were arrested in the immediate aftermath of the incident but both have since been released without charge. The manhunt for the gunman continues.
...
Musk’s inflammatory reaction was posted in response to another message on his social media platform that read: “The Left lectured us for the last decade about the dangers of violence from the Right. From the assassination attempts of President Trump to Brian Thompson, the United Healthcare CEO, being murdered. Now to Charlie Kirk. The danger was actually on the Left.”

The tech billionaire wrote in response to another post: “If they won’t leave us in peace, then our choice is fight or die.”

He further agreed with a post from right-wing media personality Mike Cernovich that accused wealthy investors George Soros, Bill Gates, and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman of “funding” left-wing terrorism, without providing evidence.

Musk later issued a one-word response (“Exactly”) to another partisan post that read: “The left-wing mainstream media, as well as figures like Gavin Newson claiming Trump plans to be dictator, has created a climate of hysteria against right-wing figures that could radicalize any number of unstable people to engage in political violence.”

Newsom – the Democratic governor of California, who hosted Kirk on his podcast earlier this year –was among the first public figures to condemn the killing, writing on X: “The attack on Charlie Kirk is disgusting, vile, and reprehensible. In the United States of America, we must reject political violence in EVERY form.”

Not so. A 22 year old has been arrested after talking to his family who contacted the FBI. The high achieving student had recently become interested in politics but had never voted or joined any party.

Edit He was earlier described as high achieving but now I see that he got a scholarship to university but dropped out after 1 term in 2021.

Tesla hit with second lawsuit over deadly California Cybertruck crash: The Guardian

Tesla hit with second lawsuit over deadly California Cybertruck crash

Parents of another victim of 2024 crash say ‘catastrophic’ design flaw to blame for deaths of three people

Tesla is being sued by the parents of a another victim killed in a Cybertruck crash in the quiet town of Piedmont, California. This is the second suit filed against the car maker this week alleging a design flaw in its vehicle is to blame for the deaths of the passengers involved in the accident, according to court filings.

The parents of Jack Nelson allege that the company that helped Elon Musk become the world’s richest man knew about the flaw for years and could have moved faster to fix the problem but did not, leaving the passengers trapped amid flames and smoke that eventually killed them.

“This case arises from catastrophic design defects in the Tesla Cybertruck that turned a survivable crash into a fatal fire,” reads the complaint,
...
[two young people] were traveling in the back of the Cybertruck with one other passenger and the driver. The car smashed into a tree at high speed and caught on fire
...
When power to the truck’s electric doors was shuttered by the fire, the passengers were locked inside with no way out. The driver also died. The fourth passenger was pulled from the car after a rescuer broke a window.

The racist and anti-islamic activist Tommy Robinson says Elon Musk is paying his legal bills, after Robinson was stopped by police ahead after a last minute ferry booking while driving a £170,000 silver Bentley and carrying £13,000 in cash in a bag:

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/oct/13/tommy-robinson-says-elon-musk-is-paying-his-legal-costs-as-trial-begins

Robinson initially tried to film police before he was detained. Robinson then refused to provide police the pin number to his phone when requested under anti-terror legislation. Imo he'll probably get off this one eventually.
