Only need to swing one or two percent of them - and it's bye-bye Donny in November.

I don't know if that's really a good thing though, the chief clown may have been pushed out - barely - but the entire rest of the flying circus is still in full swing. Imagine if Mussolini or Hitler or whatever had been voted out by a 1% margin, that's not a reassuring rejection by the voters of an abhorrent political system, it's just a slight downturn in one individual's support.

Mussolini and Hitler, like Trump, had the ability to mesmerise the masses. Imagine Pence trying to do that! Without the snake charmer, the whole thing falls apart. It doesn't matter what the henchmen do. It all revolves around the one with the magic mouth.

Trump surrounds himself with snakes. The moment they decide that their self-interest lies elsewhere, he will be history.

Again, not necessarily. Like any despot who builds a cult of personality around himself, the toadies are entirely dependent on the Great Leader remaining in power. Without him they're nothing, so they're strongly invested in keeping him in power. Think of all the sycophants he's installed, can you see any of them surviving if Trump goes?

I was using them as (well-known) representatives of a political system, not as individuals. 99.9% of Germans and Italians now reject what they stood for. If 50.000001% of American's vote against Trump, that's not really a rejection of what he stands for even if he gets voted out by it.

Most Trump supporters have no idea what he stands for. They just know that people they despise hate him.

Video of people rolling their eyes at Trump behind his back

Every sane person knows he's an imbecile and the reactions are predictable. Still, it's good for bit of a laugh.

One more death that should be on Trump's conscience: "Coronavirus: Top NYC doctor takes her own life"

Sorry, but he'd firstly need to actually have a conscience for this death to be on his conscience.

The Washington Post - The 5-Minute Fix: Who thinks Trump is doing a good job on the coronavirus?

today

Nearly half the country.

A new Washington Post-University of Maryland poll out Tuesday sheds light on who that includes.

The poll found 47 percent of Americans say he has done either a “good” or “excellent” job on coronavirus response.

Here’s who makes up that constituency:

Republicans: No surprise here. There is very little break among Republicans with their party’s leader. According to the poll, 9 in 10 Republicans say the president is doing a good or excellent job.

Independents: 45 percent of independents rate his response as positive.

Men: There remains a significant gender gap in the perceptions of Trump’s handling of the crisis ... men rate Trump positively by eight points, while women rate him negatively by a 17-point margin.

Executive Summary: This poll shows that American women are smarter than American men.   🙃

Americans deserve what they get and get what they deserve or to put it another way; "People who create their own drama deserve their own karma"

The problem with people getting what they deserve is that the virus doesn't know who has voted for Trump. Wonder how this could be achieved?

But, really, isn't it absolutely jaw dropping that nearly half the population think he is doing a good job. Just unbelievable and bloody worrying.

And, what's more, hugely insulting to all the workers on the frontline trying to help. Just read a heartbreaking very long post on FB from an ICU nurse in NY. Just terrible. Had 4,297 posts so hope they were on her side.

You forgot to quote the rest of the text:

The answer to the question was obtained by asking "Do you watch Fox News?".

Briefings Were ‘Not Worth the Time,’ Trump Said. But He Couldn’t Stay Away

To the surprise of exactly no one, President Trump resumed his daily coronavirus news briefings on Monday, just two days after tweeting that they were “not worth the time & effort” and just hours after his own White House officially canceled the planned appearance.

The lure of cameras in the Rose Garden proved too hard to resist. For a president who relishes the spotlight and spends hours a day watching television, the idea of passing on his daily chance to get his message out turned out to be untenable despite his anger over his coverage. And so he was back, defending his handling of the pandemic and promising to reopen the country soon.

It's like telling a three-year-old they're not allowed at the cookie jar, the minute you turn your back they're at it again.

Mike Pence ignores Mayo Clinic's face mask rule during visit .

Vice-president and coronavirus taskforce leader skipped mask as facility advises ‘patients, visitors and staff to wear a face covering’

He went into a hospital full of Covid19 patients without PPE... sheesh, even the President of South Africa famously made a big deal of wearing one (he took the botched attempt with good humour in a later inteview). Pity some of the patients didn't do the same as Pence and share the virus with him.

Real men don't wear helmets or seatbelts, get tetanus or rabies shots, use safety glasses or wear masks.

I'm sure VP Mike Pence prayer will keep him from being infected.

Perhaps he drank some holy water before and after visiting the clinic, to wash the virus into his stomach.

MAN LINKED TO COMMUNITY SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS MISINFORMATION

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—A resident of Washington, D.C., has been identified as the source of the community spread of coronavirus misinformation throughout the United States.

Officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Thursday that the man had ignored the advice of public-health experts and spewed a toxic strain of ignorance, potentially infecting millions.

The man, believed to be a fact-resistant organism, travelled last week to South Carolina, where he came in contact with thousands of people who, as a result of community spread, now believe that coronavirus is a hoax.

The epidemic of cluelessness expanded last night, when the man called in to a Fox News television program to encourage people with coronavirus to go to work rather than stay at home, as scientists have urged.

A C.D.C. spokesperson in Atlanta said there are steps that the public can take to avoid becoming infected by the man’s noxious contagion of falsehoods.

“According to the data we have, the most virulent misinformation is transmitted via this man’s oral cavity,” the spokesperson said. “If you turn on your TV and see him open his mouth, mute the sound and cover your face with a tissue or handkerchief.”

Trump crowned? No faux King way!
