Credit where credit's due - the doofus has finally managed to draw crowds comparable to Obama's inauguration.
Thousands of demonstrators streamed into the nation’s capital on Saturday, in the largest local protests so far over police brutality and racial oppression in the United States. On a hot and humid day, people carrying protest signs marched, many with their children, toward the area around the besieged White House, where authorities used tan military Humvees and dump trucks to cordon off large sections to vehicle traffic.
Not strictly correct - I remember a few protests after he took office that had larger crowds than his inauguration; one was a women's rights protest, from memory.
There have been some feeble attempts to compare Trump to Churchill as a 'war-time' leader rallying his people against an evil invader. As the barricades and police and humvees grow thicker around the White House, I am reminded more of that other guy frothing in his bunker in Berlin as the Russians approached. That seems like a much more accurate comparison to me.

The Washington Post - The Five Minute Fix
today
Late in the past week, a disturbing video went viral showing police shoving a 75-year-old protester in Buffalo. He lies on the sidewalk, bleeding.
That man is still hospitalized. Martin Gugino is a local activist who focuses on affordable housing and human rights ...
Two police officers involved have been charged with assault.
But Tuesday morning, President Trump shared a totally different - and totally baseless - theory about this incident, which has become another searing symbol of police brutality: That Gugino faked part of his fall because he’s a member of antifa ...
(Gugino was carrying a mobile phone when he was shoved)
