Trump is just USA, its jut one country, plus his hands are full of lies at the moment.

Trump is leader of the largest economy on earth, with a military budget / capability larger than the next 8 nations combined.

Its only just the largest economy. As to military, who of the other top 8 would they attack?

No - it's still by far the largest economy - GDP  US$ trillions

USA 21.4

China 14

Japan 5.1

Germany 4.2

Not according to this https://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/022415/worlds-top-10-economies.asp

We often hear that China will take over in a few years. China is developing, the US is old and has poor and neglected infrastructure. Think of it has a grand house that hasn't been maintained. Also, the US population of 300 million is developed, China has yet to develope its 1.3 Billion.

EU GDP is 17.1 a major. The world needs to get over the US superpower. They can waste public funds to be the military superpower if that makes them feel good

PPP GDP isn't a particularly useful measure in a global trade comparison - you're trading guns and ammo, Harley Davidsons and bourbon in real currencies, not currency adjusted based on the relative cost of hamburgers or noodles or a pair of shoes in each country.

Trump and Russia are trying to destroy the EU - and so far things are going quite well for them.

Even with a newly acquired standing on the world stage, it appears that old habits die hard

Makes me wonder if that's visible from publicly available satellite images, then what can US intelligence determine from presumably much higher resolution remote sensing, and/or if they can "sniff" for isotope leakage etc to better guess WTF is going on.

There was vast difference of opinion as to how efficient NK's plutonium enrichment programme was (and presumably still is) in terms of how much and how pure they could get weapons-grade P239 (and so then how small they could get a device - and how many of them they could make).

The thought that Trump's political ambitions are tied to his NK and China policies gives me the sh!ts.

Since the wondrous Singapore meeting, there is a lot of work going on as the vague details get turned into hard number for de nuking. If that was going well, it would be all over the media and the first 3 pages of newspapers. But, its been quiet.

Sanctions are being unofficially relaxed by China and Russia, and some EU countries took the meeting as a sign of relaxation. NK is probably doing a bit better now, so no rush required. US might get snappy, so then NK can cut them off as being uncooperative and harsh, so they can go to SK and China and UN to move forward. Hope so

Iran announced (yesterday) that they are planning to re-commission a plant to increase their uranium enrichment programme - using gas centrifuges which had been sealed and unused as part of the deal they had - that Trump reneged on.

No - this doesn't mean they're producing weapons grade uranium, but it's a step toward having the capability to produce weapons grade plutonium in the future from spent reactor fuel rods.

The yellow cake is coming from Russia and Kazakhstan.

Edit : This was from AP via Fox

I suspect on reading further that it could be "fake news" in terms of exaggerating the threat by stating that this was a definite plan, when it could be based only on comments made as part of negotiation/pressure to keep the deal alive with Europe.  IOW - possibly Iran saying that if the deal stays together with Europe, then they won't increase enrichment rather than the bias in the article suggesting that it's a done deal that they will.

From the WSJ

SEOUL—North Korea is completing a major expansion of a key missile-manufacturing plant, said researchers who have examined new satellite imagery of the site, the latest sign Pyongyang is pushing ahead with weapons programs even as the U.S. pressures it to abandon them.

The facility makes solid-fuel ballistic missiles—which would be able to strike U.S. military installations in Asia with a nuclear weapon with little warning—as well as re-entry vehicles for warheads that Pyongyang might use on longer-range missiles able to hit the continental U.S.

Pompeo's trip went well - according to Pompeo: "the talks were productive".

NK officials: the US is pushing a “unilateral and gangster-like demand for denuclearization” and called it “deeply regrettable”.  American “working-level” officials trying to destroy the agreement struck in Singapore.

Trump should call on his great friend Xi to lend a helping hand... Oh wait...

Trump has no understanding of how actions have consequences - it's not the way he's ever worked.

Beat me to it. There is negotiation, give and take, goodwill. Or there is bullying.

Here is a wiki article that will explain why the talks are not going terribly well:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_involvement_in_regime_change

Believing the USA is like the parent who has been lied to by a rebellious teenager over some issue not once, but about 50 times!
