quickymart: Plumbing has been installed to flush sewage into Wellington’s pipe network. - again, how were they able to do this?
Censor bans Christchurch conspiracy video posted by parliament occupation group: Counterspin Media paused from its rolling coverage of the occupation at parliament – spread across a livestream and Telegram channel with a combined audience in the tens of thousands [to broadcast] “an abhorrent [video] publication that appears to use the pretext of a ‘false flag’ conspiracy theory to republish a vile video produced by a terrorist killer,” said Shanks.
I see pictures of the upgraded toilets that have been installed.
How did the materials get on site? Who allowed this stuff into the occupied area? I'm pretty sure there no hardware outlets there.
The police must have allowed access for the materials to be delivered. It's not like it can be smuggled in, in a backpack. Talk about providing support to those who want mob rule.
Just like the Auckland Harbour Bridge yesterday, and the non towing of cars after they said they would, our current New Zealand Police leaders are a woke joke.
Where is the Police Minister in all of this? Just like the Prime Minister, missing in action.

What a surprise, the extreme elements have taken over the protest.
Also (and I know this won't happen, but...) all the antivaxxers at the protest site who now have coronavirus and are suddenly turning up to hospital for treatment? I think they should be charged for their care. If you won't take a (free) lifesaving vaccine for no good reason, you should be charged for the care required when you catch the disease.
A fairly thought-provoking piece from a couple of Wellington Girls College pupils, whose school is right near the protest, and all the crap they have to put up with from the protesters.
Eva888: Those who have nothing to lose are the most difficult to bargain with because they don’t fear any loss or care if they are fined because their worst case would be prison, three meals and a bed courtesy of the taxpayer.
gzt: Police have been acting consistently.
Yep, they have been doing that for sure.
Not much else you can say really, the protesters are openly flouting the law with no real consequences so far, making a mockery of New Zealand laws and the policing system.

That's what the Jan 6 rioters thought and look what's happening to them. Justice delayed is not justice unserved.
I mostly support the police policy here. Maybe they could have moved faster initially but no-one could know for sure how things would develop. Moving in with tasers and pepper spray and batons in that crowd in that environment is not a smart thing to do. When people get hurt, it is usually the innocent ones. When enough get fed up and go home, the mob will be thinned out enough for more forceful measures if that is deemed appropriate.
I imagine every vehicle jamming the streets is going to receive a nice fat ticket in due course. Some will probably turn out to be stolen, or have false plates, but most won't. Those who cannot or will not pay the fines will have their lives disrupted for awhile. Just because you don't see it happening doesn't mean they get off scot-free.

It would seem those protesters parking illegally are getting off scot free in contrast to non protesters.
I don't have the faith you do that they will ever be ticketed. Same goes for all the other laws they've been flouting.
I'm afraid the actions of the authorities so far have only emboldened the protesters, not just in Wellington but elsewhere too.
We're going to tow you, but they didn't, we're going to stop you walking the harbour bridge, but they didn't, you have to leave Victoria Park by midday, but they didn't and on it goes. I'd like to see how you'd get on if, you as an indivudual, were to try those antics and break the law.
We're allowing mob rule. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile.

Live stream on Stuff, tents being removed, some protesters throwing things and others trying to stop them from physically confronting police. What a total mess.
