They pulled this exact thing las time with Clinton. The Daily Show I think did a side by side comparison of her supposed crimes against similar things Trump had done. Of course Trump's lies far outweighed both in number and severity what they accused Clinton of but that didn't matter. The point was all to make Clinton look bad and make potential supporters sit out the election.

Trump had Russian assistance last time round. Might be slightly more level playing field this time round... Perhaps

Mind you I'm not sure if the Russians are happy at what they've created! Maybe China will try to install Joe this time.

Interesting article here: No president should assume office without a ‘fitness for duty’ exam.

The bit I find interesting is:

All American military personnel must pass a fitness for duty exam before they serve. Further, those who handle nuclear weapons undergo an especially rigorous screening process that is updated every year.

That United States commanders-in-chief are not put to the same test before they are allowed to lead the troops or to order the use of nuclear weapons is, I believe, a serious omission.

The median age upon accession to the presidency is 55 years and 3 months.

Ronald Reagan was just shy of 70 at his first inauguration. He was more than likely going gaga during his 2 terms with Alzheimer's Disease or any of the other forms of dementia. His famous gaffe "We begin bombing in five minutes" comes to mind.

Joe Biden is 77 which is right on the edge of the average age pot hole of dementia and putting aside all the other mental health concerns, real or imaginary, of DJT he is 73. Both are most certainly in the middle of the average age group for early onset dementia. Joe Biden certainly looks healthier than DJT even though he is older. Burgers and Coke and hydroxychloroquine wont help either.

JFK was the youngest sworn in at age 43, with DJT at 70 being the oldest. Personally I think there should be a top end cut off just like there is a minimum age cut off of 35. Age does not bring wisdom but it certainly brings health, physical & mental, issues;  excellent - good - bad - poor - oh crap.

But my step mum lived to 95 and started her sudden onset acute vascular dementia decline at 92 and was still driving in her early to mid eighties.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

The election is meant to be the fit for duty exam. The theory is that the voters won't vote for someone who is not obviously fit to hold the office. Unfortunately that all seems to have broken down.

Don’t buy into the Russian conspiracy theory. It’s so the Dems can blame their loss instead of actually being honest and learning from their defeat.

Of course superpowers interfere in each other’s elections, and Facebook gets rich

The 2 biggest issues CNN/MSDNC ran with for the last 2 years was Russian interference and MeToo movement. Bogus and hypocritical from these Democratic propaganda cable fake news networks

There's a whole wikipedia page devoted to Russian interference in the 2016 US elections.

Go take a look.  There's a "talk" page there - why don't you see if they'll agree to delete all the (well referenced) content you don't "buy in to".

It happened. Calling it a "conspiracy theory" is stupid.

I'd never heard of the bombing in 5 minutes thing, mind you I was only 8 at the time :)

Searching Wikipedia, I also found this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bushism although I feel the content of what Trump says is much worse, even though he (basically) gets out what he's trying to say. Bush just had bad England.

So @nathan, if you could pick any Democratic candidate at all (even Hillary) to run against Trump in 2020, who would you choose? I see you were asked this on the last page as well.

It wasn't a gaffe, it was an ad-libbed joke during a microphone test, they asked him to say something to test the mike and he joked about that. It was very in the spirit of the times, and obviously meant as a joke.

This happens all the time. The CIA were the most notorious at this exercise.

I think we need to hear the Flynn tapes. The secret wire tapping that Trump blocked from being released by the secret service.

This joke was not broadcast live, but was recorded and later leaked to the public.

Maybe not originally but that is what it turned into.

gaffe = an unintentional social or political act or remark causing embarrassment to its originator; a blunder.

Wow. How many gaffe's has Trump made❓Sorry that is "fake news"❗️

quickymart: I dunno where he gets the pandemic has been reduced to "ashes" from, I don't see the numbers going down in the US - not yet, anyway.

The White House has several fireplaces for disposing of inconvenient pandemic reports. What reports?
