I sent this to my wife
She replied with "Except our two!"
Apparently that was deemed 'racist'. I puzzeled over that for a long time, but I couldn't see anything racist about it.
But that was a good response. 🤣🤣🤣
"Racism" is the automatic response of a certain section of society. They regard it as some sort of holy kryptonite that will immediately destroy anything they dislike.
I'd be interested to know how that was racist?

This Coalitions credibility is sharply heading south.
NZF who has many times criticized Government and ministerial spending is having planes and Helicopters to drop their defense minister home. Sounds like a legitimate use of tax payers money. Not.

Heh, I can't see much racist about that. Oprahs act of generosity was not a result of her being of a particular race, she doesn't own generosity, even though it was quite generous (Not actually by her if you read up on it, but from the car company)
I thought it was a little tacky at worst, however, I'll admit that the way that JA was handing out election candy during the run up to the election, I commented more than once along the same lines of a similar thing; "you have some money and YOU have some money and YOU have some money" provided a few laughs.
Yeah, I made comment about that before.
On top of her incredibly poor handling as "leader" of the Labour Party as it relates to the Labour Summer Camp, there is a pattern emerging that she doesn't understand how to manage people.
She knows by now (or should) that Kelvin Davis is clueless. Worse than that probably. Why is he deputy leader? What does he offer NZ ? She has mishandled appointments of key people to roles they were badly suited for, think Little to Small Business.
So far I'd say as a leader she is failing miserably.
Meh, Davis was an astute appointment. It locked down Northland for her and probably put Hone off running again and being a serious problem in Government.
The fact he's struggling a bit is a problem for sure, but Labour hasn't had a major reshuffle yet; that's probably going to come in the aftermath of the first budget.
I had a read through the Tax Working Group proposals, I don't even know where to start with putting a submission in. I suspect I would be wasting my time.

You would say that anyway.
I probably don’t fully agree with your observation, which seems to be something of a reflex, though I do have the impression that she hasn’t been doing all that well. But I have been away and my tablet has been giving me trouble so I haven’t followed developments closely enough to be able to make informed comment on them. I will be interested to see how things proceed from here.
I was intrigued by the new National line-up and am surprised there hasn’t been more comment about that. In spite of attempts by some to put me in a box, I am by no means an ardent supporter of this government. I do support progressive politics, and that is why I would have grave doubts about any National-led government, but I don’t believe that Labour and the Greens can do no wrong. I just hope they can do some right.
And on that note, I was very intrigued by Shaw’s announcement that he is handing the Green’s parliamentary patsy questions to National. That is certainly different! It will be very interesting to see what National does with them.

Another tiresome (and incorrect) dig, made worse since you go on to agree with me!
It's interesting to me that every time someone here claims Labour is doing an obviously rubbish job, or demonstrates an obviously dubious decision, rather than actually admit it, you fall back on the "I am unable to make an informed decision". How are you in a position to disagree with what people here are saying if you aren't informed?
I am unsure how you could claim Labour/Greens and NZF as progressive.

Kind of offbeat comments here....
You have grave doubts about a National led Government when the election is almost 3 years away? You are surprised more hasnt been said about a new National lineup when this is a post about Jacinda Adern? And..you take a swipe at another poster after you had been away for a while???
Really.
Not one of your best posts AT ALL.

Gee, I don't even get credit for agreeing with you. You must really have a problem with me.
A lot has happened in the three weeks I have been away. I know about some of it, but not in detail. Where did I say I was disagreeing with anyone? I'm just trying to catch up. You are so eager to tongue-lash me that you are starting to trip over your tongue.
And where did I say I thought Labour/Greens/NZF were progressive? I just said I believe in progressive politics and hoped they would do something progressive. They are the government, after all.
You are always trying to put words in my mouth, usually the wrong ones. I said I will be interested to see how things develop further, and I will. I'm sure there are interesting discussions to come. I also said I would go through your posts and mark all the ones that didn't contribute anything ('Jacinda bad', 'agree with others saying Jacinda bad', pointless digs, etc.) I decided to put that on hold but am still prepared to go through with it if you want me to.

Ah, that bird again. Cheep cheep.
I have doubts about any National led government, whether in three years or 30. I am surprised that the new lineup has not received more attention in the thread devoted to that, or any others. I am not praising or condemning the fact, just expressing my surprise. Lots of comments about JA, not much about National 2.1. Why should that be? I am also surprised that you think these threads should be so narrow that nothing can be said about anything that isn't expressly in the title. It is perfectly legitimate to talk about the new National line-up in the context of this thread. I think someone here has even done that, though I would have to check to be sure.
I take a swipe at another poster? Oh my, how can that be? Not that any other poster has never taken a swipe at me. You, for instance.
Anyway, I'm glad to be back. It looks like fun times ahead.
