The Washington Post - The 5-Minute Fix
today
Even President Trump’s advisers acknowledge his election will rise and fall on how he handles the coronavirus and the economic fallout.
He’s been getting bad news for months on that front, but the worst comes for him Friday in a new Washington Post - ABC News poll.
Here are three main takeaways from the poll you should know:
1. It’s not just that most Americans disapprove of his handling of the virus, which has been true since the spring. The Post-ABC News poll finds a new level of disapproval. ... 52 percent of Americans say they strongly disapprove of how the president is handling the coronavirus.
2. The virus is spreading in purple or red states - Arizona, Texas, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. ... And this poll found a drop in approval of his handling of the virus from key groups in Trump’s base: evangelicals, men without college degrees and rural Americans.
3. Americans don’t trust Trump on the virus. ... Trump’s numbers on this are getting worse: More than 6 in 10 say they do not trust what Trump says on the virus, including 3 in 10 Republicans.

Has that stupid beans thing he did made any difference to his base at all?
Only 52%???? I guess you can re take the poll, use the same people and ask who you will vote for, get the same result (hopefully)
Also scary is only 3 out of ten republicans don't trust what Trump says.
What are the other 7 on??

I expect it serves two purposes:
It's a distraction away from the pile of 140,000 corpses - many of those attributable to the Trump administration mismanagement of the pandemic.
It's gaslighting to "own liberals". It's illegal for a federal employee to do product endorsement. Ivanka isn't a "federal employee" - she and her husband are raking in >$100 million a year from deals set up using her high profile "brand" - she doesn't need a salary to do the "job", and she'd need to get security clearance - which might cause a few "issues" given her commercial deals with China, Saudi Arabia etc.
Trump/Barr have decided that the POTUS can't be prosecuted for *anything* - so doubling down on Ivanka's tweet by doing the same thing is a poke in the eye to "liberals".
The fascist mob will be loving this.
It is fascism. If a leader declares that anti-fascists are an "enemy of the state" - then what else could it be?
I suspect he is trying to use it as a distraction but I wonder if it's actually working.
As for Ivanka? My personal opinion, dumb blonde (apologies as I know that's a harsh assessment, but it's how I feel about her) who is totally out of touch with the issues faced by voters.
Meanwhile, back in plain old sexual-misconduct-land....
This is the photo that Fox News cropped Donny out of.
Interesting body language from Melania. Either Trump has bad breath, just farted , or Jeff has his free hand up her dress.

Does this resonate with anyone else but me?
The King wanted to go fishing, and he asked the royal weather forecaster the forecast for the next few hours. The palace meteorologist assured him that there was no chance of rain.
So the King and the Queen went fishing. On the way he met a man with a fishing pole riding on a donkey, and he asked the man if the fish were biting.
The fisherman said, "Your Majesty, you should return to the palace! In just a short time I expect a huge rainstorm."
The King replied: "I hold the palace meteorologist in high regard. He is an educated and experienced professional. Besides, I pay him very high wages. He gave me a very different forecast. I trust him."
So the King continued on his way. However, in a short time a torrential rain fell from the sky. The King and Queen were totally soaked.
Furious, the King returned to the palace and gave the order to fire the meteorologist.
Then he summoned the fisherman and offered him the prestigious position of royal forecaster.
The fisherman said, "Your Majesty, I do not know anything about forecasting. I obtain my information from my donkey.
If I see my donkey's ears drooping, it means with certainty that it will rain."
So the King hired the donkey.
And thus began the practice of hiring dumb asses to work in influential positions of government.
The practice is unbroken to this date.
