We could take a vote. I'm pretty sure a majority would be happy to wave him on.
Shutting down people because they don't agree with you? Sounds like a good way to reinforce an echo-chamber.

Read my posts before you comment on them. I am not advocating shutting anyone down, just remarking on the pointlessness of the poster's contributions. This has a very long history.

Let's be fair - it's pretty transparently not the OP's intent. My issue with Nathan's style of posting (and other repetitive one/few lines posts where the posters just make bland assertions over and over without introducing any evidence) is that it's arrogant and obnoxious in the context of a discussion forum. To have any kind of effective discussion requires people to bring forth evidence and be prepared to answer points of challenge by other posters. Instead, these "blogger" style posters effectively just repeatedly shout their feelings and attitudes towards certain matters. On some levels, I don't deeply care one way or another as I tend to think people who write/post like that are just confirming a paucity of ideas and intelligence. But as someone who's a regular contributor and moderator on another forum, these types of posters start a lot of grief and drive away people who want to engage in more meaningful discussions.
Pompeo's dangerous foreign policy messages
There are just so many editorial bites from this article in parallel to my above post #2550752 it is almost Déjà vu and yet it was published several hours post my article so I will let you decide.
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
Is the RNC thingo all done now, or has it got more nights to go?

Valid point. The constant bumper-sticker length pronouncements are pretty trite, but like it or not, they are representative of what Trump supporters think, and while maybe obnoxious, they are mainstream.
Shutting yourself off from points of view that don't match your own is a quick road to extremism. I try to spend a few minutes every day checking out Fox, OAN, etc., just to keep aware of what is being said in that universe. It can be painful at times.
The problem with what a lot of Nathan says, whether it be trolling or not, is that these talking points actually hold a lot of currency with a good chunk of the people that matter - i.e. the American electorate.
Ignoring ideas that you don't like means that you're not able to address those ideas in a civilized, constructive way, and can only shout bumper-sticker length slogans back. That doesn't benefit anyone.

Just about finished, here's video of the closing speaker:
They really seem to be into people shouting into microphones.

Try doing it via Trevor Noah, via his Daily Show Channel, you get the necessary clipping service from the far-right media followed by Noah methodically pulling them to pieces, it's much more palatable than going direct to the source.

who knew they wanted to hear from the Presidents sons girlfriend anyway?
This thread, what can I say. What is apparent is some of the anti Trump folk here display the same tribalism the say the pro Trump gang participate in. The suggestions that a member who has displayed neither pro or anti Trump sentiments should go elsewhere because he does not adhere to the anti Trump tribalism displays an irony of like thinking.
Some need to do some reflection but I doubt that will occur. Enjoy your blogs folks I wont be posting here again.
Personally, I can't get my head around a reasonable person still supporting Donald Trump (specifically) or the political machine that is supporting him. I can understand having a conservative political point of view even if I don't necessarily agree with all of it, or all of the time. In like manner, I think Judith Collins & Gerry Brownlee are currently pushing as hard as they can to be NZ's Trump and I would not vote for them in a million years ... but there are/were some very talented National MPs who I absolutely would.
I'm perfectly happy for opposing views here.
