Business Insider reports on how IDF manages to keep up such a huge rate of bombing and artillery fire into Gaza

BusinessInsider: After nearly a month of war, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed that it was relying on an artificial intelligence system to help determine where in Gaza it should bomb. It's part of an operation known as the "target factory," which has increased the number of strike locations available to the military by over 70,000 percent since the system first became functional several years ago.

The article above includes some material from a much longer in-depth investigative article by Israel's +972 Magazine:

+972 Magazine: Another source said that a senior intelligence officer told his officers after October 7 that the goal was to “kill as many Hamas operatives as possible,” for which the criteria around harming Palestinian civilians were significantly relaxed. As such, there are “cases in which we shell based on a wide cellular pinpointing of where the target is, killing civilians. This is often done to save time, instead of doing a little more work to get a more accurate pinpointing,” said the source.

The article contains numerous quotes from both identified and anonymous IDF personnel. Some of them don't sound exactly happy about the kind of targeting they are required to do. It is consistent with Yoav Gallant's "released all the restraints" speech prefacing the operation.

The protagonists on both sides don't give a s**t about non-combatants. They are as bad as each other.

Unfortunately one side has a much bigger stick than the other.

Assuming all of Hammas kidnapped victims are killed, this war will easily exceed a 10 to 1 kill ratio in Gaza.

Can either side get more brutal? I'm sure they'll be thinking of new ways for the centuries to come.

"Love has its place, as does hate. Peace has its place, as does war. Mercy has its place, as do cruelty and revenge."

Sermon delivered by 'Atallah Abu Al-Subh, former Hamas minister of culture

"Allah will kill the Jews in the hell of the world to come, just like they killed the believers in the hell of this world."

If anyone wants to see what religion does to people, this seems like a pretty good example.

What makes me laugh is that the zealots maintain they are fighting for control of the land because 'God gave it to them'.

Well mate, you must have been at the end of the queue because, in Trump speak, it's a s**t hole.

When a bill or amendment is up for a vote, a Representative may vote “aye”, “no”, or “present”, which is a refusal to take sides. A “present” vote does not count towards or against the passage of a bill.

The Hill: US Republican antisemitism resolution passes US House of Representatives, fractures Democrats

The House approved a resolution on Tuesday condemning the “drastic rise of antisemitism” in the U.S. and around the world following Hamas’ unprecedented attack on Israel on Oct. 7 — a vote that fractured Democrats and prompted liberal accusations that Republicans were trying to “weaponize Jewish pain.”

The chamber voted 311-14-92 on the measure, which reaffirms the House’s strong support for the Jewish community across the globe; calls on elected officials and world leaders to condemn antisemitism; rejects all forms of terror, hate, discrimination and harassment against individuals in the Jewish community and “clearly and firmly states that anti-Zionism is antisemitism.”

The House approved the resolution despite a last-minute effort by a group of prominent Jewish Democrats urging members of their caucus to vote “present” on the legislation — which 92 did.

Two Democratic Representatives issued a statement earlier on Tuesday criticizing the resolution as “the latest unserious attempt by Republicans to weaponize Jewish pain and the serious problem of antisemitism to score cheap political points.”

The coalition argued that the measure was redundant because the House approved a resolution last week affirming Israel’s right to exist as an independent state,

I wonder when the IDF's AI system will decide the best way to end the conflict is to nuke Tel Aviv, Tehran and Damascus and do it without asking permission.

RNZ: Foreign Minister Winston Peters is expected, later today, to call on all parties involved in the Gaza conflict - including countries with influence in the region - to "take urgent steps towards establishing a ceasefire".

This has been going on under the radar with little opposition from the West since the current Israeli government came to power.

Israeli settler violence brings destruction and fear to West Bank as war rages - BBC News

The two cabinet ministers mentioned would fit comfortably in the Political Deplorables thread. In most civilized countries they would be barred from standing for any public office.

Brian Tamaki...
Oh did i see a bandwagon going by, lets join it! Look Holy Me!

Its a general Evangelical view.
As much as Iran would like to control access to Jerusalem.
(In absence of getting control of Kaaba ).
Evangelicals would like to keep access to the holy land, and see it threatened.

I'm not sure they 'really' view Jewish people so positively.

Oh yes Palestinian Authority like the Christian, Orthodox or otherwise tourist trade.
Hamas and Islamic Jihad, quite different with a stricter view, you see what Iran does to its own.

Evangelicals would happily vote in a dictator chosen of god.

Which is quite similar to some of the other sides.
Ridding world of Gay Parades and liberal nonsense is very much on agenda for both.
Hamas deals to those who don't fit.

A Kalif or a dictator of another sort seems everyone wants their own.
All that waiting while votes are counted its so annoying.
