US President Donald Trump has refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power if he loses November's election.
"Well, we'll have to see what happens," the president told a news conference at the White House. "You know that."
Mr Trump also said he believed the election result could end up in the US Supreme Court, as he again cast doubt on postal voting. ...
What did Trump say?
Mr Trump was asked by a reporter on Wednesday evening if he would commit to a peaceful transfer of power "win, lose or draw" to Democrat Joe Biden.
"I've been complaining very strongly about the ballots," Mr Trump said. "And the ballots are a disaster."
When the journalist countered that "people are rioting", Mr Trump interjected: "Get rid of the ballots, and you'll have a very - you'll have a very peaceful - there won't be a transfer, frankly, there'll be a continuation." ...

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Pushing back against derogatory attempts to brand the United States of 2020 as “Trump’s America,” Donald Trump said that he deserves no blame for the state of the country, because he has not actually done any work for the past four years.
“I could understand people blaming me for stuff if I had actually been on the job, but I haven’t,” he said. “Anybody who claims otherwise is a very bad person.”
“CNN, which is a disgrace, says that it’s the White House’s fault for this and the White House’s fault for that,” he added. “Well, I’ve hardly been at the White House, so they’re wrong again.”
Attempting to answer the question of whose America it is, if not his, Trump said, “The last President who actually worked at the White House was Barack Obama. So if this is anybody’s America it’s his and Sleepy Joe’s. People are saying that. They’re sick of living in Biden’s America, and we cannot give Joe Biden another four years.”
He rejected any suggestion that, as President, he must own the current conditions in America, asserting, “I know what I own and what I don’t own. I own Barr, McConnell, Stone, the NRA, the cops, the military, the GOP and lotsa golf clubs. Oh, and the schmucks who come to my rallies.
But I don’t own America.”
