neb:He forgot to add "use my words against me" as he's done before when he's lying. These are the same people who said they'd never try and push through a SCOTUS judge in an election year, how can you believe anything they say now?

the question to ask is, would the Dems do the same thing, if they could?

would the outrage-o-meter be off the charts, if this was a Dem President and Dem Senate, literally following the constitution...

You left behind the obvious to make it the same as the current situation: "would the outrage-o-meter be off the charts, if this was a deranged liar Dem President and scum Dem Senate, literally following the constitution..."

What Makes New York City An Anarchist Jurisdiction?

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Is it the roving ballet gangs? Or maybe the giant gorillas?

kingdragonfly: Bob Woodward - Why He Kept Trump’s Coronavirus Comments Secret

why he didn’t come forward about Trump downplaying coronavirus

that's not remotely believable. What a feeble excuse for not publishing news, that could have saved lives

what do you call a reporter that doesn't report - Woodward.

putting ones own financial interests, to sell a book, before the election, over the wider publics - sounds familiar.

:P and of course the answer is yes, the Dems would also be having a nomination and confirmation process, before the election, if, they could.

Trying to figure out which of the fallacies apply here:

what are the long-term effects of the lesser-of-two-evilism.

Every four years we are told "this is the most important election of your lifetime" until the next 4 year cycle rolls around.

Every 4 years, Republicans ratchet it to the right, Dems follow them to the middle; and on and on forever this crazy goes right

freitasm: ...Psychologist's fallacy

I was wondering if there's a name when Trump says "few people know..."

As in "few people know that the healthcare system is complicated."

or "few people know that Fortune Magazine is still in business."

The Washington Post - Trump’s (tremendous) Gettysburg address

August 12, 2020       Fake News  🙃

“Four score and seven years ago. Not everyone knows a score. People ask me, they say, ‘What’s a score?’ Fauci the other day. What’s a score? Not everyone knows. The score is the best it’s ever been. Under Trump, 87. Under Obama, not so much.

“Eighty-seven tremendous, tremendous years ago - and some years that were not so great, frankly - our fathers brought forth; also the mothers, the great suburban mothers. Biden wants to take away their dream. Our fathers and our mothers brought forth a new nation.

"How they did it: not so good. Not so perfect. A lot of people got hurt. Some were bad people, but a lot of them were good.

"The king of England, not everyone agrees he was so bad, but now they have a queen. Very few people know this. ... "

@Sideface I think you will find out that's a satire.

Agreed.

But Donald Trump is so ridiculous that satire often becomes hard to distinguish from his oratory.

When I lie awake at night I’m paralysed with fear
Thinking of the deadly virus ever creeping near
Despair it whispers in my ear a dark cloud in my room
Drifting in the dark it wafts - the dreaded faecal plume

It spreads infection through a mist of words that float in wait
Searching for a weakness they can pierce and penetrate
There they grow and multiply and spread a deadly gloom
Nothing matters any more so says the faecal plume

There is no choice no point at all both sides are just as bad
Now or in four years again the people will be had
All of it is evil and we’re headed to our doom
Just lie down and die right now so says the faecal plume

Hopeless words it breathes to me while writhing through my brain
Smothering what I believe and saying it’s in vain
I cry into my pillow as the growing crises loom
And pray for succor from that virus and its faecal plume

There will come a time I hope if all my hope’s not dead
When everything the faecal plume will say has all been said
Hope again will germinate and then will start to bloom
And nothing more will emanate out of that faecal plume.

Lie Witness News – Trump Replaces Ruth Bader Ginsburg with Ivanka

wondering just how far would be too far for Republicans who support Donald Trump, so we went out on the street to take a socially distant survey. We asked people what they thought of Trump's decision to nominate his daughter Ivanka to be the next Supreme Court Justice.

"I can imagine him doing those things, that's the crazy part"
