So what are we saying here? The fact the America does it as well makes it okay that Russia does it? God, I hope not. I guess we could go through a list of all world leaders and pass judgement on their qualities, but to return to Putin, who was the subject of my reply, trusting him is like trusting a crocodile, and anyone who does is seriously deluding themselves.

Glad that Trump won. Now lets hope both he and Putin can get together with a bottle of Vodka and Whiskey to start a dialogue which might make this world a little bit safer.

The idea of Hillary winning with all those nuclear capable US rocket launchers sitting off the western Russia border was giving me nightmares...

Wrong. There is an enormous amount Trump will gain financially and personally from this position. He has no legal obligation to give up anything when he enters the presidency, and he will continue to trade. Preferably he will find a successor later to avoid any potential prosecutions that come up. He will not drain the swamp, just make it his own.

I can't see major changes unless they change their electoral system and system of government. It's actually surprising it is not a whole lot worse.

He does gain free Secret Service protection for the remainder of his life!

I guess your joking, it may be reality. Its a fine line between his rash and un doable pledges, and getting proper and correct advice how to manage those fails. He needs to accept he has no clue, and be guided and handheld thoughout his term. Pence will govern next term I feel

Truth is most/all will not as they're leeches with their own financial interests at heart.

Hmmm , at the end of the day he is now going to be president. Have to at least give him a chance to show what he can do and see what happens be that good or bad.

Back yard fall out bunker making might be on the rise so at least there is going to be a lot of new jobs created building those.

might make the world safer but i would hate to be in the Ukraine and eastern Russia , trump supports Putin's view on what is needed in Ukraine and that is to make sure the country doesnt exist in it's current state. Syria is never going to be at peace for quite a while as Trump also supports what Putin is doing there.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

The email server thing doesn't make her evil. At best it makes her reckless or incompetent: the kind of reckless incompetence that, for you or me, would at the very least result in revocation of security clearance and the end of our career in handling classified information. And I do believe, also, prosecution, given that at least two hackers have already published some of the info, so although you cannot prove it, it is a dead certainty that it's all in the hands of Russia and/or China.

Her legal escape from that episode speaks to the heart of why a lot of people who aren't voting for her, don't like her. Even if there really was no corrupt dealing to get her off, it certainly feels like it. Why should she get away scott free? Because she's Hillary Clinton, that's why. She knows people. You don't.

Same goes for the Clinton Foundation: there is every chance that it really is completely above board, in the legal sense. But the fact that people who donate to it tend to be BFFs with the Clintons smells bad. If it were me, and I wanted to do that sort of philanthropic thing, I would put the whole thing into a blind trust relationship so that I could never know who was donating. The appearance of a conflict of interest is almost as bad as an actual conflict of interest.But as to why she's evil - well, I guess she's no more or less evil than anyone who has been in positions of influence over foreign policy for the last 25 years: she's a hawk. She has been deeply involved in the continuing American program of killing anyone they feel like by remote control, and holding indefinitely without charge, let alone trial and torturing anyone they catch. She's right in there expanding the surveillance state, and militarising the police.

She is the embodiment of the old rich white man's world.

I doubt she's going to start a full-scale conflict with Russia or China. But she's certainly got no problem stomping all over anyone that can't fight back if she thinks it might make her or her friends a dollar. That's not capital-E Evil. It's the mundane evil that the rest of us don't do anything to stop because it doesn't affect us. Until it does, and by then its too late.

America has lost its soul. Neither of these two are going to find it. Of them all this time round, only Sanders struck me as having one, but he's gone.

Funnily enough, the idea of Trump having control of all those nuclear capable US rocket launchers sitting off the western Russia border also gives me nightmares...

I think that the difference is that with Hillary there would a coldly, carefully calculated decision to push the button despite the likely consequences, whereas with Trump it would just seem like a good idea at the time/

Gracious in words does not equal gracious in actions. His words do not alter the underlining disaster.

As opposed to Hillary who never had the balls to go on stage and announce defeat before Trump accepted the win. This is the woman who would stand up against the Russians and put them in their place.
