@geekIT you beat me to the bone spur joke.
LOL :-) BTW, Trump must have been pissed that he didn't have the tallest hat.

I wonder what Trump will do if he loses in an (obvious) landslide?
Gawd knows, but it's a happy thought, nonetheless.
A landslide victory for the Dems, so complete as to enable them to replace the Electoral College system with something that's truly democratic.

I'm guessing almost everyone on this thread would find a way to get out of a draft, if our Government ordered us to fight an unjust overseas American war in Vietnam.
I am guessing Donald didn't dodge the draft based on a conscientious objection.

Ok, I will be clear.
You might go around saying that nothing will change even if Democrats are in the White House. You also say you aren't voting for Trump - actually as mentioned before you aren't even voting because you don't see how it would help.
All I see is someone that by inaction will make sure the worse option might have a chance. Sure, the Democrats might not solve everything but their candidate is not despicable as Donald Trump is.
So, by your inaction you are supporting Trump, despite all your curve balls posted here saying that you aren't.
From my point of view you are supporting Trump. Not even that, but you are also a Trump apologist.

Indeed. He didn't want to go to jail or live the rest of his life in Canada.
I don't have an issue with Trump dodging the draft - I wouldn't want to go to war either. The issue is that he then goes on to insult and disparage those who did serve.

For the past 4 years I've been very confused, and remain very confused. What is it that Trump supporters think it is that he has actually done for them?
I (almost) understand him getting voted in on his big promises to drain the swamp and his appeal to the worst nature in people, but I don't understand the continued support from his rabid fanbase in middle America four years on.
Am I incorrect that he has demonstrably failed to achieve almost all his promises and has done nothing at all for them?
He has validated, enabled, amplified, and endorsed white supremacist views in the highest office in the land. And for the GOP, he has been very helpful in stacking the courts at all levels with conservative judges who will help enact their agenda for decades to come.

I think we just disagree on the fundamentals of voting in an American democracy. I don't choose to vote for a Politician because their opponent is "despicable"

I don't get the vote shaming. If not supporting Biden = supporting Trump, then not supporting Trump, would be supporting Biden - but that's not logical.
If I support Trump, then the 100M Americans who didn't vote/vote 3rd party, do as well - 2/3 the number that voted for Clinton or Trump - they can't all be zombie apologists.
I just go back to what I've seen - voters vote on the things that affect them, not just things that offend them.

I can't make up my mind if you are sincere, but if you are, there is a huge break in your logic circuits.
In America, you can choose not to vote. That is valid, but it is not inconsequential. A non-vote is in fact a vote for the most marginal candidate. In this case, that is likely Trump. By not voting, you are supporting Trump, whether you believe in him or not. Practically everyone on this thread thinks that Trump is some shade of evil incarnate, that the winner of this election really will change the world in ways that affect everyone. Trump supporters are unlikely to get a lot of applause here. The disagreement is on much more than the fundamentals of voting in America. It is on the price others pay so you can sit on the fence and feel superior. To quote a wise philosopher, if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
This means that voting in America this time is actually Sophie's Choice. It is a binary decision. Either you take the red pill, or you take the blue one. Give up one child you love, or condemn the other one. Life's a bitch, isn't it?

I've got to agree with @Nathan on this one - at least partly.
I don't think you can say that by not voting you are actually supporting one candidate over the other. The most you could reasonably infer is that people who abstain don't see either candidate as better or worse than the other.
That's very much how I feel about my party vote this year in our election, and as a result may only vote on the referendums. I genuinely feel that whoever is in government in NZ will make no difference to me whatsoever.
I personally think the the US is a little different as, not matter how poor a candidate you may think he is, Biden has to be better than Trump. And regardless of how corrupt both sides may be, I find the the influence the evangelicals have over many republican policies frightening. I'd vote for almost any democratic candidate just to try to get Trump out - but that's just me.
