CNN: Nevada election officials will release more results at NZ 6 am Friday

Nevada election officials say they expect to release more election results [at NZ 6 am Friday] from the battleground state where six electoral votes hang in the balance.

...Those results will include additional votes from the state’s two most populated counties.

In pivotal Clark County, home to Las Vegas and nearly 70% of the state’s active voters, early in-person voting and ballots cast on Election Day show former Democratic nominee Joe Biden with a slight edge over President Trump. But thousands of outstanding mail-in ballots could determine the race.

Of the 1.2 million ballots sent to [largest county's] voters, records show 413,000 have been returned so far, of which officials have processed 337,000. But ballots postmarked by Nov. 3 will still be counted if they are received by Nov. 10. It is not known how many more ballots are yet to be received.

The Registrar confirmed Wednesday afternoon he will not release the number of mail-in ballots dropped off on Election Day, as well as those delivered by the US Postal Service on Nov. 3 and 4 until [NZ 6 am Friday].

...The county is also still processing provisional ballots, those sent to voters overseas, disabled voters and those from new residents. Nevada is one of 19 states that allows same-day voter registration.

In Washoe County, home to the city of Reno and the state’s second most populous county, the registrar of voters said all Election Day in-person votes and ballots received on Tuesday have been processed.

The county registrar said more than 21,000 votes were counted on Election Day and another 9,000 mail-in and ballots placed in drop boxes are being tallied.

I assumed he may have been resigned to the fact its over, and seek a graceful exit. Maybe not.

I don't think so.

If he loses, he loses the protection he's had from prosecution in NY.  Whether the prosecutors know for sure what's in documents they've subpoenaed (and not been able to obtain) - possible - from snitches like Cohen.  But Trump does know what's there, and if it's bad - he'll be terrified.

Deutsche Bank is also reported to be wanting to sever ties with Trump. His $340 million loans fall due in 2023/4.  There are personal guarantees on the loans, if he can't refinance when he's not president, they'll seize assets.

If he's being done for fraud/tax evasion in NY, finding new lenders is going to be problematic.

What a bag of votes are turning up at midnight or something?

I like your thinking Fred.

We must remember he is a diagnosed malignant narcissist so 'normal', logic shouldn't be expected.

These maps are pretty good, but counties have vast difference in population and significant differences in % counted.

70% of eligible voters are in Clark County (incl Las Vegas) - there's about 150,000 votes to count from there, and only about 40,000 uncounted expected votes from the rest of the entire state.

It's not over, but something very strange would have to have happened if Trump managed to get >63% of uncounted ballots, when 80% of them will be coming from a county where Biden has a 7.5 point lead with 84% counted.

Sideface:

According to The Guardian, Biden has so far received 71,562,273 votes, and Trump 68,272,493 votes.

The New York Times quotes similar numbers.

A 3 million vote lead.

Where have I heard that before?   😐

I heard an expert on BBC has that Biden will likely end up with a 10million majority in the popular vote. Even though the popular vote doesn't decide eh election, it is apparently a majority more than any previous president who has been elected in.

Also they don't think Biden can lose from here, due to postal votes more likely to be democrat voters. He is almost there. No wonder trump wanted to try and get postal votes ruled out, and he has been spouting this same thing for months.  This sort of thing is how countries end up with dictators that they can't get rid of. I just can't understand how some Americans can't see what is happening and continue to vote for him.

We also need to remember that a higher majority of Trumps voters would have voted in the polling booths, rather than by post, so the numbers initially would favour trump. So Biden is somewhat coming up from behind, hopefully to win.

Not sure how many people on here want trump to win?

I was waiting for someone to post this link, or I was going to post it myself. Based on the heading, it is not the type of story he would want behind a paywall.

I saw something about Trump demonstrators starting to gather at a vote counting office (Nevada, I think). I don't know if this is or might become significant, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the orange malignancy called on his worshippers to rise up, and the zombie horde locked and loaded. In Trump's America, a whisker loss is pretty much an invitation for violence.

There are many reasons.

We all know smoking kills. Yet people do it. Tax more. People do it.

We all know alcohol is bad. People do it.

Then there is the passion. People there are passionate about things. That divides them as the 2 parties stand for the exact opposite.

Then there is the propaganda. It's very hard to believe the opposite when the propaganda you're fed say otherwise.

I know a lot of people here who say it's the end of the world if Biden wins.

Good grief. One of the best things about a Trump loss is not having people make these sort of silly comments any more.

Key just watched a full Trump rally for the first time instead of just news bites. Although he disagrees with nearly everything Trump represents, he is hugely impressed by the passion and energy of the man. Key loves America and its creativity, but is saddened by its failures. America has lost its way and he hopes the next president “wears the mantle of the leader of the free world not as a burden to be shunned, but as a badge of honour to be celebrated”.

If you count one man screaming for 15 seconds in front of the office, with a wife-beater shirt that says "BBQ, Beer, Freedom".

He then stormed off, presumably for the freedom of some barbeque and beer, or maybe a bright shiny object caught his eye and distracted him.

Must be making his daughter-wife-sister proud
