Meanwhile, back on Earth:

The NY Times

In Georgia, where Trump’s lead over Biden has shrunk to 3,486, only 18,936 ballots remain uncounted, according to Jordan Fuchs, the deputy secretary of state.

Trump’s margin continues to shrink in Pennsylvania as Biden surges in Philadelphia’s suburbs. Updates from Delaware and Bucks counties gave Biden a net gain of 5,400 votes.

MurrayM:

Quick question related to voting in America: I often see people described as being "a registered Democrat" or "a registered Republican". Does this just mean that they're a paid-up member of that political party or is it something else?

That means you've registered as voting for the Democrats or Republicans, so you declare your clan colours/voting in advance: "My klan, right or wrong". I was baffled by it when I worked in the US since it means you're (a) breaking the primary feature of elections, secret balloting, and (b) declaring that you're supporting your clan, not any particular political issue. Possibly one of the things that makes voting so partisan, since committing to something in advance makes you more likely to actually do it later.

Sorry I just can't watch that crap. I'm glad someone keeps an eye on it but I am old and my remaining seconds are precious. As I am no longer a working journalist, I don't give a sh!t about fairness or balance. Back to my liberal echo chamber.

Full fascist mode from Steve Bannon:

He'd like to "go back to the old times of Tudor England" to implement medieval sentences for Fauci and (FBI Director Chris) Wray. "I'd put the heads on pikes, right? I'd put them at the two corners of the White House as a warning to Federal Bureaucrats: you either get with the program or you're gone.

Youtube has removed the video of the interview, he's been banned from Twitter.

Batman:

if you're meaning trump's tweets in the last few days, i don't think anyone can stop what he wants to do. if you mean his misinformation over the last 4 years, i think it's like when you play rugby and you know your scrum is breaking the rules but if you keep breaking the rules and your scrum is always superior, then why change your scrum.

In military terms, it's continuing to fire to cover up the fact that you're out of ammunition.

My Texas niece just wrote

"Austin businesses are boarding up the windows in case of riots and the grocery stores are limiting the amounts of toilet paper you can buy to avoid shortages due to panic buying."

I guess it's better than buying ammo in bulk.

Perhaps I should open up a toilet bidet wholesale company in the US.

Perhaps those old Cabbage Patch Kids in American's attic could serve the same purpose as toilet paper in a pinch.

In a lot of states you have to be registered to vote in the primary elections, such as choosing who you want to run for president for your party, registered republicans can only vote for who they want the republican candidate to be.

You can still vote for anyone in the general election though.

I couldn't even last a minute of that mindless garbage. I could feel my brain imploding. Christ I'm glad we don't get that kind of religious fervour here.

But we do.  They tend to get laughed at and have a lower public profile.
