Ok, I'm getting a wee bit worried now.

A few days ago it looked like the GOP were cutting him loose, today they are starting to rally around him.

Trump's purposely constructed voter fraud conspiracy may get legs. If it does, irrationality could take over and this could get very ugly.

Plus, any recounting done will not swing the election in Trump's favour. It's like he thinks an extra million votes will magically be plucked out of thin air, showing that he won.

Or something.

he;s not wanting a recount, he wants to delete biden votes in the states where he lost by the lesser margins

Actually, I'm pretty happy with the pro-Trumpers' reaction to the election.

Just think how boring and uneventful it might have been if Trump and his cronies had been all smiley, gracious and congratulatory in defeat.

As it is, we can now look forward to months of entertainment as we watch more and more sourpuss dials being layered with egg, copious tears (some crocodilian), sackcloth and ashes being flung over balding heads and best of all, the frantic efforts of the Orange A-Hole as he attempts to rewrite history, with absolutely no bluddy show of doing it!

He seems to be getting less and less coverage now, which he will hate. Hopefully he will now just be ignored by the media. He has to find a way to keep himself in the news, and if he refuses to concede and is taking it to the court, then there isn't much else that will get him headlines. Hopefully he won't do anything stupid. I guess these rallies may help him get a bit more coverage for a day..

I doubt it. Most of the statements were along the lines of Trump can take advantage of his tights to seek legal redress if he's found something wrong. Basically put up or shut up without starting a war within their party.

Trump will huff and puff for a couple of months and on Jan 20th Biden will be president.

His 'tights'? As in 'tightie whities'? Or was that meant to be 'torts' as in:

"A tort is an act or omission that gives rise to injury or harm to another and amounts to a civil wrong for which courts impose liability. In the context of torts, "injury" describes the invasion of any legal right, whereas "harm" describes a loss or detriment in fact that an individual suffers." ?

'Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.' Voltaire

'A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government.' Edward Abbey

Ignore this "joke" at your peril ...

The Independant (UK) - Mike Pompeo says there will be a ‘smooth transition to second Trump administration’

breaking

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said there would be a “smooth transition to a second Trump administration” just days after the presidential election was projected to be won by Joe Biden. *

Mr Pompeo made the comments when asked by reporters if the State Department was engaging with the Biden transition team.

The statement was followed by a stilted laugh, so it is unclear if he was speaking in serious reference to the Trump administration’s legal challenges to the election, or in an attempt at humor.

We’re ready, the world is watching what’s taking place,” he said in follow-up.

* EDIT  This comment was recorded on video - just follow the link (above).

I was watching a three part show on Netflix "Whose Vote Counts, Explained". The American system is even more messed up than I thought. Democrats can get more votes for the House and Senate than Republicans yet still end up with a minority.

I didn't know what gerrymandering was - that's messed up as well.

Brace yourselves. The next Donald Trump could be much worse.

This pretty much sums it up for me.

I doubt the GOP will be looking at a non traditional option again, once bitten...
