The Washington Post - Federal appeals court panel rejects Trump request to block certification of Pennsylvania’s election results

today

A federal appeals court on Friday rejected President Trump’s request for an emergency injunction to overturn the certification of Pennsylvania’s election results.

The Third Circuit Court of Appeals said in a scathing 21-page opinion that the Trump campaign’s challenge of a U.S. District Court’s decision had “no merit.”

Voters, not lawyers, choose the President. Ballots, not briefs, decide elections,” the court said.

The opinion was written by Judge Stephanos Bibas, who was appointed to the court by Trump.

Bibas was joined by two other Republican-appointed judges in a unanimous 3-0 panel. ...

At least Fox News picked up the Bloomberg story, so that's good news:

Fox News: Donor sues pro-Trump group for $2.5M over 'empty promises' on voter fraud

Also from Fox News recently

Trump claims Biden must prove votes weren't 'illegally obtained' in order to enter White House">

...Trump’s tweet came after Biden crossed the 80 million vote threshold as votes are still being counted. Fox News and other media outlets have projected that Biden has won the presidency. There is no requirement for Biden to “prove” his votes were legally obtained for him to take office.

Trump's campaign has launched a number of legal challenges related to how votes were counted. But those challenges were dealt blows this week when multiple states certified their results...

How ridiculous. Did Hillary "challenge" Trump to prove he won the election in 2016? I don't remember anything like that happening.

I do remember her conceding (reasonably) gracefully, however.

Why be surprised at anything Trump says? His entire being is defined by saying dumb things.

Sideface:Trump's management has been far, far, worse than incompetent - he actively sabotaged the US response to COVID:

1. by denial of its existence.
2. by willfully understating its virulence (despite knowing otherwise)
3. by opposing / vilifying effective countermeasures such as isolation and masks
4. by promoting useless snake-oil "remedies", some of them dangerous
5. by ignoring / obstructing his own competent COVID team
6. by appointing an incompetent / sycophantic COVID "expert" instead

EDIT  (new text)

7. and, worst of all ... by turning a once-in-a-century public health crisis into a political 3-ring circus, starring Donald Trump as ringmaster.

He has blood on his hands.

Amen to that. 10+.

He says he won and wasn’t done
But tiny mushrooms having fun
Can’t change the course of history
It wasn’t hate it wasn’t fate
Just premature ejectulate
And why he lost at such a cost
Isn’t such a mystery

But coitus interruptus can
Prevent another Donald man
At least that is the fervent hope
To not elect another dope
The pres he sez it just ain’t fair
Who gives a damn he sure don’t care
If millions more die it’s too late
But don’t forget ejectulate

The people spoke it was no joke
And Donald’s on his way
He’s such an ass so very crass
What is there left to say?
If another, son or brother
Wants to run the State
And comes along to say we’re wrong
Just say rejectulate!

What Makes Trump’s Subversion Efforts So Alarming? His Collaborators

The president has been trying to dismantle our shared beliefs about democracy. And now, his fellow Republicans are helping him.

So - dumb question - but what if somehow the Electoral College votes for Trump on December 14? He stays in office, despite losing the election? Someone please help me out here.

More Dirty Deeds by Donald ...

The Washington Post - Trump moves to strip job protections from White House budget analysts as he races to transform civil service

breaking

The outgoing Trump administration is racing to enact the biggest change to the federal civil service in generations, reclassifying career employees at key agencies to strip their job protections and leave them open to being fired before Joe Biden takes office.

The move to pull off an executive order the president issued less than two weeks before Election Day - affecting tens of thousands of people in policy roles - is accelerating at the agency closest to the White House, the Office of Management and Budget. ...

The employees would be vulnerable to dismissal before Trump leaves office if they are considered poor performers or have resisted executing the president’s priorities, effectively turning them into political appointees ...

If enough employees are viewed as disloyal to the outgoing administration, they could be fired or reassigned, leaving Biden with an empty budget office. ...

My understanding is the Electoral College rules. If Trump is able to bribe enough electors to vote for him, he stays president and no-one can do anything about it, except there would be riots in the streets and all-out civil war.

The Independant - Trump ‘is considering an event to announce his 2024 campaign on the day of Biden’s inauguration’

breaking

Biden’s inauguration will be on 20 January and a Trump campaign timed to clash would be a logistical and diplomatic nightmare for Washington DC.

Donald Trump is considering launching his 2024 election campaign on the day of Joe Biden's inauguration, it has been reported - weighing up how to keep the spotlight on him in his post-White House life. ...

On Saturday The Daily Beast cited three sources who confirmed he is considering a 2024 run, and two of them said that he had floated the idea of holding an event during Mr Biden's inauguration, to cause maximum disruption. ...

If this was anyone but Trump, I would call this a ridiculous rumour ... but Trump is a ridiculous man, who has no purpose other than his own elevation.
