I do remember her conceding (reasonably) gracefully, however.

Trump said Biden had to prove he won. Actually whoever brings a claim needs to prove it, so Trump is obviously being a douche.

It is a possibility since some states allow Faithless Electors - but not all of them.

Justices on the state high court ruled unanimously late Saturday that Republican petitioners waited too long to file their suit challenging Act 77, the 2019 law that established universal mail voting in Pennsylvania.

Trump allies had asked the court to invalidate all votes cast by mail in the most recent election or direct the majority-Republican legislature to choose a slate of presidential electors.

The court’s written order called the latter option “extraordinary,” noting that it would disenfranchise 6.9 million voters. ...

Concurring, Justice David N. Wecht noted that the GOP petitioners “failed to allege that even a single mail-in ballot was fraudulently cast or counted.” ...

* A case dismissed with prejudice is over and done with, once and for all, and can't be brought back to court.

You can be charged with barratry, but it's very rarely done. In particular it'd be dangerous in the US because the right would see it as an attempt by the judiciary to disenfranchise them. Better to let the suits get thrown out one after the other with a definitive ruling on each one.

Barratry is very rare, tends to be given to lawyers, and the poor who represent themselves.

Here's a good paper called "Subsidising Litigation" by the New Zealand Law Commission, which compares the US to New Zealand, and others.

The rich and powerful can usually file as many cases as they like, knowing they'll almost never directly wear the consequences, beyond "bad optics" and countersuits.

So Trump is in the clear, because suckers will fund any countersuits, and he's definitely not worried about "bad optics"

Rudy Giuliani and fellow lawyers could be disbarred.

IIRC the % of Republican voters who register for voting in primaries is much lower than the % of Democrat voters who register for voting in primaries. This also biased because of state requirements for registering for primaries varies from state to state - more pre-register in blue states. So the 68% figure of Republicans who'd vote in primaries supporting Trump probably doesn't accurately represent the overall % of Republicans who'd support Trump. Sorry that seems to go around in a circle because if he's selected, then Republicans will vote for him anyway, because they'd vote for any Republican candidate, because Democrats are evil communist paedophiles who'll take your guns, your money, organise death squads to ration healthcare, and all the other CT that Trump voters believe.
