Um, how about: "I was a loser who got sucked into a conman's web of lies, and I paid the price that he should have, especially when he stopped caring about me defending his baseless charges of a stolen election" ?
Talks about freedom and liberty and how it ties in with the protestors's "message" (if there even was a clear one).

Interesting but long winded way of saying that with rights and freedoms comes responsibility and your rights and freedoms stop when they impact the rights and freedoms of others.
One thing that article fails to acknowledge is the alternative world most of the genuine protesters live in. (I'm not talking about the yobbo and anarchist element we saw at parliament grounds). They don't believe Covid is as bad as we're being told it is, they believe the vaccine has killed many people and there is a significant risk to them by taking it. Thus they see the mandates as an impact on their rights to not have an unnecessary and potentially dangerous vaccine.
In other words they're using the same logic/argument as we are around freedoms and rights. Until there is a way to get them to see that they have been hoodwinked by their sources of truth they will remain firmly convinced of the merits of their protests. Right now I don't know what the answer is. I really wish I did as there are people close to me with their heads firmly down the rabbit hole.

A pretty long article which needs reading through more than once to fully understand what the writer is saying. I'm not sure I agree with everything in the article but it does in my opinion give a good overview about why the end of the occupation at parliament isn't the end of this sorry situation. There needs to be some fundamental changes made to fix the underlying issues in our society which have helped drive the motivation of the protesters. We have to change our thinking on how we deal with this situation.
While there's been a bit of focus on overseas alt right influences in various publications I found this comment interesting.
It’s no coincidence Russia’s state-sponsored propaganda machine, RT News, has been covering these events, which call into question the strength of a western democracy's cohesion, just 18 months out from a general election. Or that Twitter accounts posting anti-mandate and anti-vaccine misinformation, quickly pivoted to pro-Kremlin messaging following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Interesting piece from David Farrier about conspiracy theories and how they lead to the protest at Parliament.
I don't think it changed anything (I haven't changed my stance on vaccinations at all), but I'm sure others will disagree.

I don't know why Newsroom decided to give a voice to Voices for Freedom. Aren't they loud enough and in-your-face enough already??

A followup to Newsroom (for some reason) interviewing the three women behind Voices for Freedom and not digging into their background or funding, at all:
Sad, really - I thought Newsroom had some quite good articles. Or is this just all about the one reporter?
It is about journalistic sloppiness and editorial abrogation that enables one reporter to act in a highly unprofessional manner. If this is an example of mainstream media, the protesters may have a point.

Handle9: Hysteria much? It’s one article that they have acknowledged they would do a bit differently next time.
Hypercritical much? Journalistic standards are important. Maybe less so in some parts of the world.
