kingdragonfly: Esquire: This Is an Embarrassment to the Idea of a Civil Society

It is important to note that, by the logic of the Senate, the country can afford $15.4 billion for the president's idiot Space Force next year, but it simply cannot afford the cost of keeping sick people from starving or being evicted.....

I actually hope JB cancels the idiotic "Space Force" not only as a money saver that could be better spent elsewhere but also our Solar System (the Terran Solar System) should be a neutral system used by ALL mankind for the universal benefit of ALL mankind.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

neb:

Politically inept move by Trump, in a gun-worshipping militaristic theocracy you never touch the three G's: God, Guns, and the Generals.

Trump is inept. That is the very definition of the man.

The sequel to:  The Washington Post - Pence seeks rejection of lawsuit that aimed to expand his power to overturn the election

The Washington Post - Judge dismisses Gohmert lawsuit seeking to stymie Biden electoral college count

breaking

A federal judge in Texas has dismissed a long-shot lawsuit by Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Tex.) that sought to overturn the presidential election, saying neither the congressman nor his allies have legal standing to pursue the case.

The judge’s Friday night ruling tosses out what many election law experts considered a far-fetched theory to challenge the formal mechanism by which President-elect Joe Biden will be affirmed as the winner of the race for president.

U.S. District Judge Jeremy D. Kernodle issued an order dismissing the case because, he found, neither Gohmert nor his fellow plaintiffs have a sufficient legal stake in the process to justify the lawsuit.

Kernodle was nominated to the federal bench by Trump. ...

"Team Trump" is a very exclusive club; there's only one member.

There may be no "I" in "team" but there are three in "narcissist!"

Trump gets involved in so many lawsuits, that by even Wikipedia's admission, it's hard to keep up-to-date
.
Investigators / prosecutors are notoriously silent on their investigations. Waiting for 21 January are an army of process servers.

Luckily Trump too much of a narcists to flee the US, following the same path as many other deposed despots..

The most obvious felonies to get Trump jailed are various state tax cases, in particular New York, and various outstanding sex assaults charges.

If you've ever observed a high-profile drug case, you'll know prosecutors will always want the boss. And you get the boss by offering deals to his underlings.

Given his pardon frenzy, Trump's obviously worried about a number of close associates who are being prosecuted, and even some possibly dealings in any number of countries.

His abuse of the pardon privilege is well into the uncharted waters. There's debate whether it's at the "God" level, meaning he could literally at once pardon everyone in the US's felonies past and present, including Federal, State level, and Military Court level.

Typically pardons are for Federal crimes, but after the US Civil War there was a mass pardon of former Confederate politicians, so yeah, who knows?

There's even discussion about whether getting a pardon is bad: the pardoned would be admitting their guilt and lose your right to not testify against themselves (the Fifth amendment). Regarding their pardoned crime, they be legally compelled have to answer all questions truthfully and fully about your crimes, including all associates, or you could be found guilty of a new crime, of perjury or contempt of court, and wind up in jail.

Even though he's abusing the pardon privilege, it just takes one miss one underling, who would turn witness against him.

Considering he throws "friends" under the buss more often than some people brush their teeth, I'd say jail is a certainty, if his lifestyle doesn't kill him first.

I'd go so far to say, anyone related to Trump also serves a good chance for jail time, again practically in a New York state jailhouse.

Sorry, I meant how many bogus "election fraud!" lawsuits does he currently have open? Not lawsuits in general :)

Wiki - Legal affairs of Donald Trump

An analysis by USA Today published in June 2016 found that over the previous three decades, Donald Trump and his businesses have been involved in 3,500 legal cases in U.S. federal courts and state courts ...

Of the 3,500 suits, Trump or one of his companies were plaintiffs in 1,900; defendants in 1,450; and bankruptcy, third party, or other in 150.

The topics of the legal cases include contract disputes, defamation claims, and allegations of sexual harassment.

Trump's companies have been involved in more than 100 tax disputes, and on "at least three dozen" occasions the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance has obtained tax liens against Trump properties for nonpayment of taxes.

... and that list does not include the last 4 years of grifting whilst in office.  😕

Sorry, kingdragonfly, there are only two 'i's in narcissist.

But there are four in 'narcissiticism', which is probably not a real word, but it sounds like a good label for one of Thing's "meemeemee!" self-worshipful statements.
