Sideface: The Washington Post - Polls close in Georgia with control of the U.S. Senate at stake
Results might take longer because of increased mail-in voting

Good news: If the democrats are already leading, that's a good sign. Typically rural districts are heavily Republican, and they are expected to vote in person (as Trump as been trumpeting.)

Atlanta, which dwarves other districts, is expected to be heavily democratic. I would expect Atlanta would have a higher than normal mail-in votes.

Bad news: Trump's, AKA the mob-boss', recorded vote rigging call may not have much of an influence, because democrats may have voted again him already. Republicans, who will likely vote in person, don't care.

History is also not on the Democrats side. Close races have not been won for 24 years.

Just my opinion for the Georgia peaches.

Oh its becoming a bit of a nail-biter.  Changed to 50/50 , Trump Dump ?
https://abcnews.go.com/

It will be a hell of a fight if it comes down to a handful of votes, without a large margin it will supercharge conspiracy based challenges.

Meet my bros Affi and David , they will swear to anything, Pardon, oh yes that too.

All in the middle of a pandemic, where efforts like vaccination are less than stellar , especially Georgia which is apparently performing worse than any other state.

What happens if we end up in the same position that resulted in this vote ?

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Georgia is only 52% white (non-Hispanic white).

64% are Evangelical, Catholic, and Black Protestant, which tend to vote Republican. Coincidently 64% of Georgians say religion is very important.

They don't call it the "Bible belt" for nothing.

If it weren't for COVID, Trump's lousy job of dealing with it, and its disproportional affect on people of colour, the democrats wouldn't have a chance.

If the Republicans lose Georgia, Trump will go absolutely ballistic, the hypocrite that he is.

What do you mean? Trump won Georgia by hundreds of thousands of votes.

I meant the runoff/byelection/whatever it is...the one happening right now.

Yesterday, highly emotional press conference by the Georgia top election official, railing against Trump

Starts getting emotional quickly, within a minute.

Scott Adams's weird take on Trump's call. Someone tell me if I've missed something here.

I know, I was making a joke about Trump being a hypocrite for berating the republicans if they lost Georgia. He'd only be a hypocrite if he had lost Georgia in the general election, but he maintains he actually won it.

I don't think that can happen, as in the run-off they are only two candidates so one of them has to get over 50% of the vote (unless they tied).

Ossof just caught up according to Washing Post. Warnock was called by Decision Desk.

Last few votes people...

Apparently the reason for calling it to the Dems is that the remaining votes are from heavily D leaning counties
