ABC News - In blow to Trump, golf’s PGA strips major championship from Trump-owned course

The 2022 PGA Championship will no longer be held at Trump Bedminster.

breaking

As he faces a lonely end to his presidency, Donald Trump learned Sunday evening that, in the wake of last week's riot at the U.S. Capitol, he has lost one of the relationships he values most: his partnership with the Professional Golfers' Association. ...

"The PGA of America Board of Directors voted tonight to exercise the right to terminate the agreement to play the 2022 PGA Championship at Trump Bedminster," said Jim Richerson, PGA of America president, in a statement.

Excellent news !!!! - This will hurt Trump's pride even more than his second impeachment.  🙂🙂🙂🙂

EDIT

"People who broke into the Capitol Wednesday are now learning they are on No-Fly lists pending the full investigation.  They are not happy about this."

Who would have thought you can't just mount an insurrection and then carry on with your life with zero consequences.

HA HA!! Who's the "liberal snowflake" now, losers??? Good job. Maybe the police can also arrest them while they're at the airport.

Only query I have is how could they have identified them all so quickly?

Kyanar:

kingdragonfly: I didn't know you could impeach a president after he left office.

Trump is screwed.

Just to be clear, impeachment happens as soon as the majority votes in favour of the articles of impeachment. The power to impeach solely vests in the House of Representatives, but the power to convict on the charges vests solely in the Senate. Think of the House of Representatives as being the prosecutor bringing the charges, and the Senate as the court that actually convicts on them. He's already been impeached once but not convicted. The difference is that this time they want to make both the impeachment and conviction stick.

But if he is impeached and expectedly not convicted, he's out of 2024?

Interesting. Golf is an old and honourable sport (Ironically golf originated from Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden)

Justin Thomas is a top golfer, his short game is amazing. But he got busted saying for a homophobic slur at the weekend tourney. Apologised, its terrible and the usual response. P!ssed he got caught. Thats America for you, great on the outside, possibly dodgy on the inside.

Well, that really sounds like the crowd was ready to see killing and approve it. The other standout claim - March for Trump had less officers assigned than March for Science - with that well known danger to humanity Bill Nye The Science Guy educator..

freitasm:  Historian telling about the "Stop the Steal" (original tweet thread below, all in one page here):

The only problem with this excellent post is that the main points are buried in text.

The "five big take-aways" are:

1) This insurrection wasn’t just redneck white supremacists and QAnon kooks.

2) There is no doubt the Capitol was left purposefully understaffed ...

3) The Trump rioters only supported law enforcement as long as they believed law enforcement was supporting them.

4) There were no clear crowd rules imposed for Stop the Steal like there were for all the other protests we have attended.

5) These people are serious and they are going to keep escalating the violence until they are stopped by the force of law.

SJB: As I posted earlier, he's just a B-lister who ended up in the wrong job. And once the job ends in a few days time that's what he will go back to being

Well I hate to say it - this more or less sums up what many thought of young Schicklgruber after his first attempt failed.
