Geektastic:

The problem is, the latest fanatics apparently shouted "This is for Allah"as they ran down the road stabbing people......

What has that got to do with it? You are talking about evil lunatics. They could be shouting anything that has been drilled into their diseased minds. I could run down the street shooting people screaming 'this is for god' but no-one in their right mind would think that had anything to do with the church. Are you in your right mind?

You mean like White ISIS who call out "this is for god". But they are all isolated incidents where people where just mentally disturbed.

surfisup1000: Simply awful, and if we encourage Islamic immigration it will happen here too. A lesson for us perhaps.

Are you suggesting not one single Muslim? Ie: A Muslim ban?

The KKK is a good comparison for ISIS. KKK professed Christian morals etc. KKK used terror in an attempt to achieve their own state, KKK did not want rights for minorities, blacks, jews, catholics (other christians). Had no problem killing or intimidating anyone who disagreed. Anti-moral degeneration etc at the same time performing disgusting acts. A good number of supporting clergy along for the great cleansing and a return to a better time when everyone knew their place blah blah..

surfisup1000: Obviously nothing to do with Islam eh?

Still can't fathom how some people try and deny the religious aspect of these attacks.

Simply awful, and if we encourage Islamic immigration it will happen here too. A lesson for us perhaps.

Who's trying to do that?

The thing that people should be aware of is that the main purpose of the attacks (from ISIL) is to encourage anti-islamic sentiment, which they expect to be a great recruiting tool for what they believe is the coming end of times.  We'll get what we deserve - if we persecute all muslims for the crimes of a few, yet that's what some lunatics are suggesting.

Sadly the POTUS chief strategist is also on record stating that there will be "holy war" that he expects the west to win - with the result a return of "Christian values" to the entire world.  I guess many in the Muslim world believe that war's already begun - Bannon probably does too.

Well you for a start. As when I suggested Islam was motivating people to terrorist attacks your response was, and I quote, "what a load of twaddle"

Just the other day Philippine Muslims were executing people who could not quote the Koran... would you deny the religious reasons behind these murders?

Or are they merely disaffected youth without jobs as some suggest as being the cause?

You support Hamas or Israel? Or neither?

Islam isn't motivating people to commit those acts, people are using Islam to motivate terrorist attacks.

They're using idiots (in the UK) - mentally unstable / easily persuaded by propaganda.

As an atheist, I think all religion sucks.

Interesting how the usual right-wing folks in this forum are behaving exactly as ISIS want them to - with no comprehension that they're being played.

Someone remind me what the left-wing solution is?  Do a Merkel, and bring a million migrants from Muslim countries into your home country, while hoping that none of them are extremists, will become extremists or will spawn someone who will become an extremist?

Or do we just keep having peace vigils and changing our facebook profile pictures with some inane backdrop, hoping that will stop ISIS dead in its tracks?

PS, I can't think of a good solution, just curious to be enlightened.

People (or more specifically terrorists) are going to find a way in to the country they want regardless of their policies around immigration for countries in the Middle East. I'm no politics major but I think the whole 'ban Muslims from our country' would aggravate groups like ISIS more than deter them.

A lot more will have to die before the UK has the stomach to do what's needed

I wonder what that's needed would be.

Simple. Just stop immigration completely from certain countries/passport holders. The attacks will continue for a few more years or maybe decades, but eventually the terrorists inside will all be dead. These guys have a habit of destroying themselves. ISIS/Muslim extremists inside the UK will not survive.

But of course it will all be back to square one once another bleeding heart liberal/left wing government takes office.

Personally I think it could work. The world just needs more people with the balls to do it.

Geektastic: Two confirmed dead so far.

From the Telegraph

A series of co-ordinated terror attacks have hit London in three different areas, with reports of dozens of casualties from stabbings and pedestrians mown down by a vehicle.

The London Bridge area was in lockdown after witnesses said 20 people were run down by a van and pedestrians were attacked with knives at 10.08pm.

There were also multiple reports of rapid gunfire in what one witness described as “Westminster all over again”.

We are one week from being there, and would have been at one of those two locations. It's getting scary!
