Tucker Carlson is a pro-Russian propagandist. He was extremely popular Fox News. It's hard to determine the exact reason why Fox News let him go, but some reasons could be, a pending massive sexual abuse lawsuit, trash talking the Fox leadership, and a racist text that include "'It's Not How White Men Fight"

He still has an offer on the table to work for RT, Russian TV.

The Ukrainian government has branded Tucker Carlson a “clown” and told him to check his facts after he launched a pro-Kremlin rant on his first Twitter show.

The former Fox News host told viewers that a “fair person would conclude” that Ukraine destroyed the Nova Kakhovka damn which collapsed and caused massive flooding in the country.

Carlson, a popular voice for the Kremlin, added that the dam was “effectively Russian” and that the damage “hurts Russia” more than Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Centre for Strategic Communication and Information Security slammed Carlson on Twitter on Thursday, using a clown emoji.

1News.co.nz: RNZ received complaint over Russian 'propaganda' months ago

A group of Ukrainian-New Zealanders complained about what they felt was Russian propaganda at RNZ eight months ago, 1News can reveal.

An investigation is underway into a single staffer at the public broadcaster, amid revelations 15 articles on its website were altered to include pro-Russian views.

Fourteen of those articles were provided by the reputable international journalism agency Reuters and one was provided by the BBC.

Over the last few days, it was discovered all 15 were changed by someone at RNZ in ways friendly to the Kremlin’s version of events.

However, it can now be revealed Ukrainian New Zealander Michael Lidski complained about what he described as a “carbon copy of the enemy propaganda” in an article on the RNZ website in October 2022.

The piece, headlined "NZ entering Ukraine conflict at whim of govt", was published in May of that year.
It was written by a journalist on the broadcaster’s digital team and included an unchallenged claim from an interviewee stating, among other things, that New Zealand was "inadvertently helping to arm neo-Nazi militias and far-right groups"...

I noticed this a few weeks ago on one headline article. I didn't think much about it at the time because it was so clumsy and obvious that I just assumed everyone would see it for what it was. I am a former journalist and professional wordsmith and I'm pretty good at reading between the lines. It was clear to me that someone was making changes and I thought about posting something here but didn't.

I guess it is interesting that Russian propagandists have felt a need to invade our editorial space here in little old New Zealand, but I suspect this is a self-appointed Russian supporter and not part of a more coordinated effort. I could be wrong. The reason I think it is a lone wolf is because the changes were so poorly done, but in view of the Russian incompetence on the battle field, maybe this is part of the official war effort after all.

All I see is a giant pit where Russia has thrown in $500 million to $1 billion a day, and set alight.

Before the war even started, this was the state of Russian demographics:

Net loss of one person every 30 seconds
One net loss migrant every 4 minutes
one of the lowest fertility rates in the world, insufficient to maintain its population

In other words, there's not enough young Russian tax-payers to pay for this disastrous invasion

So congratulations Putin; you'll be China's bitch sooner than expected.

How does someone who gets to a seniority where they secure an 'editorial' position?
Justify this , they are not brainless to get required qualifications and experience.

There were some comments from them that seemed to be.

Like you needed it to be pointed out, you have some skills to get where you are,
and can't comprehend what's going on ?

But then we have Morning Talkback we have, so maybe looking to their future there.

Afterall how did the chief Russian Propagandists get their fortunes and overseas villas,
not by letting facts and human decency get in the way.

Or are these just glorified final, spell, and grammar, and tweakers of headlines for clicks these days.
So not that much thought required?

Something like that for a subeditor position. Editing to fit the allocated space and format. and meet any style requirements. Looks like RNZ gave at least one previous warning to the same person.

So clumsy and obvious that RNZ should have had a lot more complaints. Maybe locals are bypassing RNZ and going to other sites for Ukraine related news. Even the RNZ Brass weren't reading their own copy.

New York Times: 16 June Why the Evidence Suggests Russia Blew Up the Kakhovka Dam

A dam in Ukraine was designed to withstand almost any attack imaginable — from the outside. The evidence suggests Russia blew it up from within.

Moments after a major dam in a Ukrainian war zone gave way, wild torrents cascaded over the jagged remains of the top. But the real problem most likely lay elsewhere, cloaked deep beneath the surface of the raging waters.

Deep inside the dam was an Achilles’ heel. And because the dam was built during Soviet times, Moscow had every page of the engineering drawings and knew where it was.

The dam was built with an enormous concrete block at its base. A small passageway runs through it, reachable from the dam's machine room. It was in this passageway, the evidence suggests, that an explosive charge detonated and destroyed the dam.

At 2:35 a.m and 2:54 a.m. on June 6, seismic sensors in Ukraine and Romania detected the telltale signs of large explosions. Witnesses in the area heard large blasts between roughly 2:15 a.m. and 3 a.m. And just before the dam gave way, American intelligence satellites captured infrared heat signals that also indicated an explosion.
