Rudy Giuliani claimed on ABC News Saturday that he’ll help defend the president at his upcoming second impeachment trial — but a Trump spokesman to tweeted hours later that Trump has yet to choose his legal representation.
“I’m involved right now … that’s what I’m working on,” Giuliani told ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl.
But early Sunday, Trump campaign spokesman J. Hogan Gidley tweeted that no such decision has been made.

"Nobody shows for 'MAGA Drag' from New Haven to Hartford"
NEW HAVEN — A planned “MAGA drag” in support of now twice-impeached President Donald Trump, due to start Saturday morning at the IKEA parking lot in New Haven and head up the capitol building in Hartford, appears to be a bust.
Fliers promoting the event had been shared on social media, and New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker asked residents to stay away, despite reports that the event had been canceled.
“Given what occurred last week at the U.S. Capitol and some threats of violence around the U.S., we are encouraging people to stay away from the area of Sargent Drive, Long Wharf and IKEA until this afternoon,” Elicker said early Saturday. “Our police department is working with local law enforcement to prepare for any potential issues at this event and over the coming days.”
Participants had been told to begin gathering at the IKEA parking lot at 10 a.m. As of 11 a.m., the scene was quiet aside from a heavy police presence and the usual crowd of shoppers on a gray morning with heavy rain earlier.
By noon, there was no sign of the so-called “MAGA drag” at the grounds of the Capitol in Hartford. Had anyone gone, they would have found there was not easy access to the Capitol building.

"Ex-Trump campaign official charged with human trafficking"
NEW YORK (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - A former Kentucky campaign official for President Donald Trump is due in court on Friday after being charged with human trafficking in the U.S. southern state.
Timothy Nolan, a retired district court judge, was arrested last month and charged with forcing a minor to engage in commercial sex around August 2016.
He is also charged with inducing a minor to engage in sexual activity and giving alcohol to a minor, according to the complaint.
Nolan’s defense attorney said he denied all the charges.
The 70-year-old was appointed to chair Trump’s electoral campaign in Kentucky’s Campbell County last year, according to court documents in an unrelated civil suit in which he was the plaintiff.

neb: geekIT: Americans have, over the course of many, many years, gone to a great deal of trouble to rid themselves of a King-Emperor.
But now it seems that a goodly-sized chunk of their citizenry wants to reinstate a new absolute monarch.
That was over two hundred years ago, and only because the King was the symbol of unfair treatment by the UK. If the UK had been a republic, they would have rebelled against that. In any case they built a strongly centrally-controlled system amenable to becoming a pseudo-monarchy, as Alexis de Tocqueville liked to point out: "In examining the division of powers, as established by the Federal Constitution, remarking on the one hand the portion of sovereignty which has been reserved to the several States, and on the other, the share of power which has been given to the Union, it is evident that the Federal legislators entertained very clear and accurate notions respecting the centralization of government. The United States form not only a republic, but a confederation; yet the national authority is more centralized there than it was in several of the absolute monarchies of Europe....
Interesting stuff from de Tocqueville. He also said, "As for myself, I do not hesitate to avow that although the women of the United States are confined within the narrow circle of domestic life, and their situation is in some respects one of extreme dependence, I have nowhere seen women occupying a loftier position; and if I were asked, ... to what the singular prosperity and growing strength of that people ought mainly to be attributed, I should reply,—to the superiority of their women."

Trump crowned? No faux King way!
"Trump to flee Washington and seek rehabilitation in a MAGA oasis: Florida"
President Trump will leave Washington this week politically wounded, silenced on social media and essentially unwelcome in his lifelong hometown of New York.
By migrating instead to Palm Beach, Fla., Trump plans to inhabit an alternative reality of adoration and affirmation. The defeated president will take up residence at his gilded Mar-a-Lago Club, where dues-paying members applaud him whenever he eats meals or mingles on the deck. He is sure to take in the same celebratory fervor whenever he plays golf at one of the two Trump-branded courses nearby.
Some of Trump’s associates are buzzing about a possible presidential library and museum — likely located, yes, in Florida — and about the birth of a family dynasty, should his children, Donald Jr. or Ivanka, someday run for political office. Florida is seen as a better launchpad for the Trumps than New York, given the outgoing president’s popularity in the former. Some in Trump’s orbit are talking up the idea of Ivanka possibly running for Senate in 2022, when the term of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) will be up.
Speculation is also coursing through Trump World about a possible presidential library and museum. No announcements have been made, but two people familiar with internal discussions said it is likely to be located in Florida and run by Dan Scavino, one of Trump’s longest-serving and most loyal aides who advises him on social media and most recently served as deputy White House chief of staff.
One of these people, who was a top fundraiser on Trump’s campaign, said the president has told supporters he wants to raise $2 billion for the library — a far greater sum than has been raised for past presidential libraries — and thinks he can collect it in small-dollar donations from his grass-roots supporters.
“I thought to myself, what is this alternative fantasy life you’re living?” this fundraiser said. “I have no clue where they think they’ll get this money raised. Anyone who gives to him will be radioactive.”
Asked about raising money for the library, another former top Trump fundraiser wrote in a text message: “Insane.” This person noted that, “except for the wackos, everybody’s running for the hills.”
The mood in the West Wing has been generally dour, aides said, with many deeply upset over the president’s actions on Jan. 6 and frantically searching to find a job.
Aides said Trump has been working only sporadically in the Oval Office, spending a lot of time lately in the residence. He also has been bouncing around the West Wing taking pictures with departing staffers.

They'll need that to pay for all the gold leaf and the 100ft revolving statue of Trump with the illuminated gloriole on his head.

That is what the gaming tables (From one of the many of his failed Casinos) are for.
SaltyNZ:neb:They would need to be convicted first so no chance of Trump pardoning them.
Actually the law is pretty clear on that: they don't even need to be charged in order to be pardoned. See: Ford's pardon of Nixon, Carter's pardon of Vietnam draft dodgers. There are basically no limits on the power pardon other than it's only for Federal offenses and it cannot be used to prevent an impeachment. Even the self-pardon thing would need to be tested in the Supreme Court as it is not explicitly barred.

Trump is planning an 'elaborate' send-off for himself before Biden's inauguration. He wants a red carpet, military band, and a 21-gun salute.
Doesn't look like it's going to happen. 😂
