Nick Smith rather cheekily tried to amend the foreign donor bill to include donations to organisations like the NZ First Foundation. The Greens and Labour voted against it 😅
I'm starting to feel sorry for Clare Curran. How in God's name did she actually manage to get sacked as a Minister?

She wasn't sacked, she resigned. Even she knew that the PM was completely wrong to not sack her and forced her hand, otherwise, Curran would still be there.
It would be nice to go a week without yet another debacle coming out of this coalition. It's been a 3 ring circus.
JA's judgment is seriously flawed when it comes to people management.
I am actually pretty surprised/disappointed at Kris Faafoi, who has been one of the very very few Coalition Cabinet ministers who has done a halfway decent job.

I agree, Kris Faafoi I thought was a hope for the future, hopefully he will learn from this. What really saddens me is I don't see National as being any better right now. Where did all the skilled politicians go?.....long time passing.

A number of decent career politicians from National left soon after the coalition was formed. 1 Term Governments are rare here and I imagine they understandably didn't want to wait around.
Based on performance and what not, Labour shouldn't get a second term, but you are right, National isn't looking that crash hot right now, though I would find it hard to believe they would be worse than this.
Winstons grudge has, in my opinion, put a serious halt on decent progress in this country for a while. I believe what the two parties promised (and delivered) was pretty much the same, but I think National (made up of the people previously leading it) would have done a
MUCH better job of delivering what they promised than this Coalition has. Every time the benches change hands there is an adjustment, time to change direction, get things set up the way each party operates, and this is time where nothing substantial is happening (It's actually why, in the USA, people will give a terrible President a second term).
If Labour get in next term, it's likely with the Greens, which based on behaviour of the past, isn't likely to be much better than NZF is, just a different kind of headache.
I maintain my original claim that Labour would have been in a better position to Govern in 2021 if they had been in opposition this term, and built up with JA as leader, though, I don't think JA is well respected by her peers, and her people management and people leadership skills are poor at best based on what she has demonstrated to date.
I really hope NZ First polls below 5% in 2020 and that blight that has affected NZ politics for way too long is gone forever. You are right one term governments are rare in NZ, if I recall correctly the last was the Norman Kirk Labour government, it would have been a multiple term government if not for Norman Kirks tragic passing.

Yup she should have dropped Twyford long ago as well as porno Jones. I had respect for her to start with and do to a certain degree now but she really does need to sort out her people management and be one hell of a lot more staunch.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has confirmed that her Cabinet is in agreement that it "is not viable" for the North Island's main port to remain in Auckland.
Ministers discussed the report into the Ports of Auckland and if it should be moved in their weekly Cabinet meeting today.
Ardern told her weekly post-Cabinet press conference that it is Cabinet's – and therefore the Government's – position the port needed to move.
But she stopped short of saying where it should be moved to, saying these sorts of details will be addressed by Infrastructure Minister Shane Jones on Thursday.
How many cups of tea in an Epsom cafe does $10bn dollars buy?

Way more than 10bn
According to the news, the sexual assault complaint against a Labour staffer has been "not established" and there are major doubts about the complainant's story. Those who leapt to judgement on this matter might want to reconsider.

The issue wasn't about whether the allegation was true or not true, it was how Labour handled the accusation. That has been proven to be wildly unsatisfactory. They didn't learn from the first one, which is what makes it worse.
Also, just because there isn't evidence to support a claim of sexual assault, doesn't mean it didn't happen.
For the record, I am not claiming it did, just observing it could still be true and shouldn't be written off as nothing.
I reckon you have to give weight to the conclusions of the report that it looked at given it was prepared by a QC. You can't really call their integrity into question - it doesn't work like that.
But as you say, it's as much about what the report considered (these specific allegations) and what it didn't look into (the handling of it).
Ardern has hinted there are two more reports to come that will look into matters associated with that.
Just watching Scomo make an idiot of himself in Australia reinforces how lucky we are to have actual leaders in NZ - I know Jacinda's more than proved her credentials when it comes to being a compassionate face during a crisis, but Bill English would probably have done the same and Key also. Hard to imagine any recent leader in NZ political history would have put out statements about the cricket and avoided talking to the people who are on the front lines, and then make a total tit of themselves when they eventually got there.
