More of Trump's thugs are starting to learn the definition of law and order (note: they were on the wrong side of it):

The Washington Post - Opinion: As Jan. 6 hearings begin, Republicans side with the terrorists
today
The select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol held its first hearing Tuesday, and Republican lawmakers took the occasion to demand justice - for the terrorists who took up arms against the U.S. government on that terrible day.
Six Republican members of the House, escorted by a man in a giant Trump costume bearing the message “TRUMP WON,” marched on the Justice Department Tuesday afternoon to speak up for those they called “political prisoners” awaiting trial for their roles in the insurrection.
“These are not unruly or dangerous, violent criminals,” Rep. Paul Gosar (Ariz.) proclaimed at a news conference outside DOJ headquarters. “These are political prisoners who are now being persecuted and bearing the pain of unjust suffering.”
Rep. Louie Gohmert (Tex.) speculated that “we have political prisoners here in America.” ...
Rep. Elise Stefanik (N.Y.), the House Republican conference chair, proclaimed: “The American people deserve to know the truth: that Nancy Pelosi bears responsibility, as speaker of the House, for the tragedy that occurred on Jan. 6.”
Rep. Jim Banks of Indiana, one of the saboteurs House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy had tried to place on the select committee, announced that Capitol Police “weren’t trained” adequately and that “Nancy Pelosi is ultimately responsible.”
The Republican whip, Steve Scalise (La.) repeatedly accused Pelosi of a “coverup” about Jan. 6.
And Rep. Troy Nehls (Tex.) denounced fellow Republicans Liz Cheney (Wyo.) and Adam Kinzinger (Ill.), for serving on the select committee. “Those Pelosi Republicans aren’t interested in the truth,” he alleged. “We’re interested in the truth.”
Seven of the eight Republicans standing there had voted down an independent, bipartisan commission negotiated by the top Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee.
And now they claim Pelosi is the one blocking a fair, bipartisan investigation?
All this while faulting the Capitol Police, who at that very moment shielded them with a ring of officers, barriers, vehicles and a canine unit. ...
America, land of the free. 😕

The New York Times - ‘A Peaceful Transfer of Power Didn’t Happen This Year’
today
The chasm between facts and mythology couldn’t have been deeper on Tuesday when the House of Representatives held a hearing into the realities of what transpired.
Below are some examples of the facts and myths regarding those events.

.....“Trump started the interview by pointing out his enduring and unrivaled power within the Republican Party. He explained that he didn’t intend to follow the path of former presidents, who largely bowed out of the nitty-gritty of party politics.”
- “He was proud to say he genuinely enjoys this sport he found so late in life, and believes he plays it better than anyone else. The parade of Republican politicians flocking to Mar-a-Lago all spring to kiss his ring had both energized him, he said, and proved the value of his stock.”
- “I think it would be hard if George Washington came back from the dead and he chose Abraham Lincoln as his vice president, I think it would have been very hard for them to beat me,” Trump said....
Many of you older folk will remember the scene in '2001 A Space Odyssey', when HAL has just told Dave Bowman that he cannot allow them to disconnect him, and Dave, for a few seconds, just gulps wordlessly.
That's how I feel whenever I read or watch another episode of the never-ending saga of Mad King Donald.
I mean, what can you say? It's clear that around 40% of American voters are happy to be ruled by a lunatic. Perhaps the best thing for us is to simply bless the whole farcical situation and let it go. Trump certainly isn't worried about how you or I feel about him.
So here goes: I Love Trump. There, I've said it. My ulcer feels better already.

Oh dear the value of a Trump endorsement is waning...
In Texas GOP runoff election Rep Jake Ellzey will head to Congress after defeating Trump-backed candidate Susan Wright, widow of Rep Ron Wright who died of Covid-19... yikes.
Ellzey outspent Wright's campaign by 2:1... weird that team Trump is a bit strapped for cash these days.

With that table above (truth vs mythology), everyone listed on the right hand side should be absolutely appalled with the lies they continue to trot out to support the orange buffoon.
Seriously, I bet even Reagan would have been shocked to see what the Republican party is like now.
Polarization over Covid vaccine prompts some Americans to get shot in secret
The increasing polarization and disinformation around the Covid-19 vaccine has led to some people attempting to “disguise their appearance” and get vaccinated in secret, according to a Missouri doctor.
Dr Priscilla Frase, a hospitalist and chief medical information officer at Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains, said physicians had experienced a number of people who have asked to covertly receive the vaccine to avoid conflict with vaccine skeptical family, friends and co-workers.
You don't need the Gestapo, NKVD/MVD, or Stasi watching you to control your public behaviour any more, in the US your family and neighbours will do it for you.
