This reminds me of Abraham Lincoln's great quote:

"Four score and 7 days ago, I did not put a hamster up my keester."

Washington Post: Trump asserts his dominance inside GOP, pushing Republicans to embrace his false claims of fraud

,,,“It was all phony s---, okay. All phony stuff,” he said of the Democratic impeachment efforts and the investigation of his ties to Russia.

Unprompted, he brought up an unsubstantiated claim he had interactions with prostitutes in Moscow before he ran for president.

“I’m not into golden showers,” he told the crowd.

“You know the great thing, our great first lady — ‘That one,’ she said, ‘I don’t believe that one.’ ”

I find her statement odd. I mean, Trump's got a golden crapper - why wouldn't he have a golden shower?

Wait...oh yeah. She meant he's never asked her for a golden shower. 😜

Trump crowned? No faux King way!

Just stop and think for a moment what Trump is actually saying. How many normal men would ever feel a need to publicly point out that their wives did not believe they were into golden showers? Why is that even something that needs to be said? That fool is so vulgar, so lowbrow, so tacky, so devoid of any vestige of taste, so lacking in any sense of class, so mired in the gutter, so missing any trace of dignity, that he actually thinks he is giving poor Melania a compliment. I am no fan of her, but she sure deserves a lot better than that bloated imbecile.

He's quoting completely out of context, the full quote was:

"The one with the dwarf and the swarfega, that definitely happened, and the one with the transvestite in the kinky leather Nazi uniform, and the chicken and the olive oil, saw the photos myself, but that one, I don't believe that one - I would say it's more greenish than golden".

Surprise!

The Washington Post - Trump sues to block records requested by Jan. 6 committee

breaking

Former president Donald Trump is suing to block the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol from receiving records for its inquiry into the events of that day as well as Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results.

Trump and his attorneys argue that the records request is overly broad and has no legislative purpose, and they criticize President Biden for not asserting executive privilege to block the handover of those documents.

The Committee’s request amounts to nothing less than a vexatious, illegal fishing expedition openly endorsed by Biden and designed to unconstitutionally investigate President Trump and his administration,” the lawsuit reads.

Our laws do not permit such an impulsive, egregious action against a former President and his close advisors.”

The committee has signaled in recent days that it plans to be aggressive in its effort to secure information from Trump and his top aides. ...

Poor Donald. Still the victim.  😒

Apart from the crassness and sheer stupidity of Trump's statement, it also carries the clear implication that there are other, possibly grosser, things that she does believe.

Reuters: Trump questioned under oath in lawsuit over alleged Trump Tower assault

Former President Donald Trump testified under oath on Monday as part of a civil lawsuit brought by protesters who allege they were assaulted by his security guards in New York in 2015, a lawyer for the protesters told a news conference.

Trump sat for a videotaped deposition on Monday morning at Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan, said Benjamin Dictor, a lawyer who sought Trump's testimony in the long-running dispute.

"The president was exactly how you would expect him to be, he answered questions the way you would expect Mr. Trump to answer questions, and conducted himself in a manner that you would expect Mr. Trump to conduct himself," Dictor said.

NPR: Trump sues to try to stop the release of documents related to the Capitol riot

Former President Donald Trump is suing the Democratic-led House select committee that's investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, as well as the National Archives, to try to stop documents related to the riot from being turned over to the panel.
...
This month, President Biden authorized the National Archives to share a first group of documents requested by the committee, adding that other requests would be considered on a case-by-case basis.
...
The committee includes seven Democrats along with two Republicans who have been critical of Trump.

The former president's lawsuit came a day before the committee is set to vote on a criminal contempt report for former Trump adviser Steve Bannon, who failed to show for a requested deposition on Thursday.

Turning to the courts was a maneuver used by Trump throughout his presidency to keep potentially embarrassing documents, such as his tax returns, out of the public eye.

CNN: Section of Donald Trump's website appears to have been hacked

A hacker appears to have compromised a section of former President Donald Trump's website and replaced it with a slogan and a speech from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Visitors to a subdomain of Trump's website were greeted Monday with a message from someone claiming to be a Turkish hacktivist. "Do not be like those who forgot Allah, so Allah made them forget themselves," the message read. Below was a link to an Erdogan speech in which the Turkish president quoted from the Quran.

One of Trump's regular lawyers in the case above and below:

Beast: Former President Trump has chosen Jesse Binnall, a Republican lawyer who filed a lawsuit attempting to overturn the 2020 election results in Nevada, to represent him in a lawsuit that alleges he violated the 1871 Ku Klux Klan act by inciting the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.

Perfectly appropriate.

The New York Times - Trump’s Claim of Executive Privilege in the Jan. 6. Inquiry, Explained

19 Oct 2021

[severely condensed from a long article]

What is executive privilege?

It is a power claimed by presidents under the Constitution to prevent the other two branches of government from gaining access to certain internal executive branch information, especially confidential communications involving the president or among his top aides. ...

Is Trump’s privilege claim valid?

The constitutional line between a president’s secrecy powers and Congress’s investigative authority is hazy, with few Supreme Court guideposts. Historically, such disputes have usually been resolved through compromise, not judicial rulings. ...

Is executive privilege an absolute power?

No. Even a legitimate claim of executive privilege may not always prevail in court if there are countervailing constitutional considerations. ...

May ex-presidents invoke executive privilege?

Yes, but courts may view their claims with less deference than those of current presidents. ...

What if the current president disagrees?

Judges will take that disagreement into account in assessing the strength of the ex-president’s claim. ...

Does Biden support Trump’s invocation of the privilege?

No. President Biden has declined to assert executive privilege to protect his predecessor’s Jan. 6-related materials from disclosure, instead instructing the National Archives to provide them to Congress ...

Is Steve Bannon covered by executive privilege?

This is unclear. ...

What is contempt of Congress or court?

It is a sanction imposed on people who defy congressional subpoenas or court orders to provide documents or testimony, and it can lead to their imprisonment. ...

How can a person held in contempt be punished?

Being held in contempt of Congress does not by itself carry penalties beyond reputational harm, but Congress can then refer such findings to the Justice Department and ask for criminal contempt charges. ...

Can executive privilege protect someone from contempt?

Yes, it can relieve a recalcitrant witness of legal liability for declining to obey a subpoena. ...

Not so cocky now, are we?

Considering how Trump, and his enabling lawyers, love to use lawsuit to silence people, it's a bit of lovely irony.

If Trump is really innocent and has nothing to hide, he wouldn't be filing all these lawsuits and jumping up and down saying "executive privilege" requesting information be withheld, surely.

Another class act from the graceless one. Colin Powell was everything Trump can never be, a civilised human being with decent values who admitted his mistakes. The two should not even be mentioned in the same sentence. Trump dirties everything he comes near.

... right... so Trump is implying the media should be positive towards him because he didn't try to attack OTHER countries under false pretenses... got it.
