gzt: It was denied at the time. Then confirmed by the guy that denied it, then denied by the guy that guy blamed. Then semi-admitted by the contracted PR firm who claims it may possibly have hired some actors as 'coordinators' for the event.

From what I remember at the time it was started by some Hollywood gossip rag where someone thought they recognised someone in the audience, and then some other publication published what they claimed was a leaked email. If it was actually genuine then all he did was hire a claque for opening night, a standard practice that goes back to ancient Greece and not really news. It certainly doesn't support the claim that the audience was "largely made up of actors".

Peter Navarro, who proudly crowed about how he had a part in organising the January 6 riot is subpoenaed. Of course, he says he won't comply.

Who's crowing loudly now? More like refusing to comply with the rule of the law.

That's something that Trevor Noah pointed out a while back, Faux News repeated over and over and over again during the BLM protests, "obey the rule of law", "obey the rule of law".

I guess that one doesn't apply to people who stage an insurrection.

I must say, nothing says "you're so vain" more than having a bs quote you made, framed and hanging on the wall of your house or office, next to all the Trump crap and Jesus pictures. But, this is Stephen Bannon (lol) we're talking about here who knows so much about "style".

Remember when Trump complained that regulations made toilets (and showers) less efficient? Perhaps there was a reason for his lunatic rants as per Breaking the law via toilet would certainly complete one Trump-era story arc - The Washington Post

The New York Times’s Maggie Haberman reports that during the Trump administration, White House staffers would occasionally discover that the toilets in the White House were clogged with “wads of clumped-up paper.” We’ve known for years that Donald Trump had a predilection for ripping up notes and other documents. The natural conclusion, then, is that some such scraps then wound up in the toilet.

Repeatedly. That’s really the part of this story that’s so odd. Clog the toilet with wads of paper once, okay, you could have anticipated that result, but lesson learned. But to do so more than once? Baffling, to understate it a bit.

This anecdote does lend new context to Trump’s occasional rants about the flow of toilets when he was president. In December 2019, for example, he alleged that low-flow regulations were making bathrooms less efficient.

“People are flushing toilets 10 times, 15 times, as opposed to once,” he said. “They end up using more water. So, EPA is looking at that very strongly, at my suggestion,” he said, referring to the Environmental Protection Agency.

Referring to the torn paper blocking the toilets, TV1 has just shown a clip of Trump berating Hillary for using her personal email account and all the problems this could cause but then he quotes the law forbidding Presidents from destroying papers! Out of the mouths........

The prosecuters shouldn't have any problem proving he knew he was breaking the law!!

Bring it on.

Thing is, people like him simply don't care whether you like him or not.

But I do wonder if more people like him than dislike him.

Sure, but he's a good example of proving one doesn't need to be charismatic to be influential; even in little ol' NZ Bannon plays his part through supporting Counterspin...And that delightful "media" organisation is up to its eyeballs in the Wellington parliament occupation while also seemingly getting into fights with other parts of the occupation.

Trump has always known, with absolute certainty, that he is perfect - therefore anyone who doesn't grovel before him is to be ignored or punished.

Washington Post: Marjorie Taylor Greene says Nancy Pelosi leads ‘gazpacho police,’ causing collective spit take

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has long been the center of controversy for comparing Democrats and their policies to Nazi Germany — but it’s her latest attempt, in which she appeared to confuse its secret state police force with a cold soup from Spain, that has stirred up Washington.

Greene appeared on One America News on Tuesday and accused House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) of using Capitol police as “political pawns” and “sending them into our offices” — referring to a complaint from her colleague Representative. Troy E. Nehls (Republican-Texas). The Capitol Police has rejected Nehls’s claim that a security check of his open office was an illegal investigation, calling it protocol when an unattended office has a door left open.

Greene referenced “Pelosi’s gazpacho police spying on members of Congress, spying on the legislative work that we do, spying on our staff and spying on American citizens that want to come talk to their representatives.”
