I personally think that's a moot point though, as claims of privilege don't really apply in his case. But I can see Bannon (the dropkick) wanting to drag this out as long as possible so he doesn't have to go to court.

But if I read this right, it sounds like Trump wants to cut this guy loose too? That would be, what? The fourth time he's "broken up" with him now? Only this time it may actually be permanent.

He doesn't have a lot of leverage or capital at the moment, I feel. Sure, he's got his podcast (how many people listen?) but that only goes to the base that would have voted for Trump anyway. I highly doubt he appeals to the entire electorate banging on endlessly about electoral fraud and how America is so hard done-by in the world, etc etc.

The firm, Cushman & Wakefield, was ordered to pay $10,000 a day until it complies with a subpoena. It appraised several Trump properties that are at the center of the New York attorney general’s investigation.

The panel recorded Mr. Cipollone on video with potential plans to use clips of his testimony at upcoming hearings. Aides have begun strategizing about whether and where to adjust scripts to include key clips, one person said. The next hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.

Read the comments for the documentary The Brainwashing of my Dad, there's over a thousand of them saying, over and over again, this is what happened to my father, my mother, my uncle, my brother... that stuff is an incredibly toxic and addictive drug, the anger and frustration it creates trigger the same dopamine release as drugs like cocaine, and since it originates from the brain's original limbic system it overrides the rational and moral brakes that the brain usually applies. So the people who have become hooked on this stuff are in a way drug addicts, it's just that the delivery mechanism is different to the usual chemical one.

A federal judge on Monday refused to delay Stephen K. Bannon’s trial next week after the Justice Department called an offer by the former Trump aide to testify before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection a “last-ditch attempt to avoid accountability” on charges of criminal contempt of Congress.

“I see no reason for extending this case any longer,” U.S. District Judge Carl J. Nichols said in rejecting a host of Bannon’s defenses after a hearing, including his contention that Donald Trump had claimed executive privilege over his testimony and documents. ...

In an overnight filing, U.S. prosecutors urged Nichols to keep Bannon’s trial on track for July 18 and to withhold from jurors Bannon’s “sudden wish to testify,” which they called an 11th-hour ploy to airbrush away the conduct that spurred his prosecution.

re point 2, that would only happen if he's allowed to testify live on TV, allowing him to espouse his white-nationalistic propaganda bs. I'm hoping they don't let him do that.

His defense that he was protected by "executive privilege" was never going to hold up in court anyway, maybe he's finally got to the point where he realises this is the case and he may as well get this over with.

Cheney said that after the last hearing - featuring former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson - Trump tried to call an unnamed witness ( “one you haven’t seen yet.” ).

The committee referred information about this call to the Justice Department ... Witness tampering is something the Justice Department usually takes very seriously.
